Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Fellaini to score and United to win, 7/1.

He will be a hero in about 2 and a half hours time.

People focusing on Fel, but there's other problems with the team too.

Rashford is now being played into the ground because he scored two goals two games in a row, but has been poor since. Lingard is way more miss than hit. Carrick beside Fel is a disaster waiting to happen; the two never work well together.

if Utd get through this tie it will be a miracle.

All of those players barring maybe Rafael wanted to leave. Not much point comparing really.

And why did they wanna leave ? For the same reason Paul Pogba wanted to leave years earlier, not been giving a fair chance.

Maybe LVG thinks our slow sideways passing will hypnotise Liverpool and make them sleepy before we pounce with 3 goals

I thought Blind was in the danger zone or the red zone or something?

Mata on the right with Lingard at no 10.

    The mind boggles.

Abysmal from Varela and De Gea there.

We were always going to have to score 4 or 5 tonight, we've been out of this since the first game

Get some of the starters for Sunday off

Not sure what more De Gea could do there, if he stands he leaves himself open to be nutmegged.

Disappointing from Varela but the tie was lost with last week's abject performance.

Knowing our luck, we'll be 3-0 until Coutinho smashes one home from 35 yards out in the 94th minute.
    After 46 attempts going awry.

    Then Barcelona will sign him.

    :pac:

I cant really blame Varela. In a sense he shouldnt be starting these big games but unfortunately that's what happens when your squad is small.

Yeah but he was too far out, beaten on his near post

Great to see Mike getting across and helping out his rb....
    He's useless

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,347 ✭✭✭Quandary

    That's that done then.

Not a hope will we score 3 unanswered goals.

Getting knocked out of Europe by an average Liverpool team hurts but at least we're a step closer to not having LVG as manager.

While its disappointing to go out its not a surprise after last weeks effort, at least we are actually playing.

Disappointing to throw the tie like that after doing so well and missing so many chances. Should have been a contest in the second half at least.

    Glazers Out!

That goal was defo Fellaini's fault, he should have been on the line saving that with his afro

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,709 ✭✭✭✭Cantona's Collars

Carrick has been really poor, keeps looking for the easy way out and when he does pass forward it is forced or wayward.Any pressure on him and his game goes to pot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Ah De Gea left a big gap at the near post. He was poor for the goal as was Varela.

Liverpool were always going to score. Defending at both ends has been shocking.

Mata on the right and Lingard behind Rashford is bonkers, even for Van Gaal. Lingards pace the right is essential and could have tested Milner playing at LB, plus he would also help out Varela defensively a hell of a lot more than Mata would.

Van Gaal out thinking himself again to the detriment of the team.

Shocking defending. Not sure I can watch anymore of this. LVG put us in the position, getting knocked out of the f*cking Europe League by Liverpool. Unexcusable not going through in that Champions League group. The Powell substitution!!!

    atm it is Varela's fault.

Tomorrow it will be Fellaini's fault.

It's not like the warning signs weren't there though. The defending from both teams has been laughable. Annoying that they scored with the last kick of the half but it was more likely to happen than not.

Coutinho looked across,DDG was ready for a ball across the 6 yard box,he was undone by a good bit of skill.Varela was terrible by being turned so easily,Coutinho didnt have to do much to get by him.

The usual, when we attack well we cannot defend-zero balance.

RIP Varela. There goes his time at Utd.

    Valencia on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,964 ✭✭✭tinofapples

Valencia back at right back, that'll do Varela's confidence the world of good

Typical Louis, likes to give young players a chance and then hauls them off at half time

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,347 ✭✭✭Quandary

Can see us conceding another goal in this half

Valencia instead of Darmian. Would he ever **** the **** off?

Even aside from the goal, Varela has been very poor so he deserved to be hooked IMO. Valencia might as well get a run out.

Edit : forgot Darmian was on the bench!!

Van Gaal should see to that asap, he won't see 90 minutes either way. Morgan and Bastian on for him

I was talking about the elbow lads, not his performance.

Nevermind those bullies, Fellaini. Your elbows are beautiful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Chasing 3 goals and we change both fullbacks.

Im presuming he ment for the elbow.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,606 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

Need three goals and we have used two subs to bring on two new fullbacks....

Probably use the third to being on another defender too...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,949 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

Rojo gone straight down the tunnel so he must be in some discomfort

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,228 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

All this sprinting after lost causes and closing down is doing us no favours for Sunday.

Shut it down, lads. Shut it down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,655 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

Fell is such a limited player.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

We're going out of the FA cup too

We are better off just forfeiting the end of the season, it has been over for months
