Can skipping alone give you a toned stomach?

    If I really went at the skipping hard would the abs come through a bit ? would I get a toned stomach? Thanks

    It will burn some calories off. This will lower your body fat percentage meaning less fat to cover the abs. If you have a decent layer of fat on your abs you must reduce this first by doing any type of fat burning exercise (you cannot spot reduce) like running.

    It will burn some calories off. This will lower your body fat percentage meaning less fat to cover the abs. If you have a decent layer of fat on your abs you must reduce this first by doing any type of fat burning exercise (you cannot spot reduce) like running.

    So skipping has no advantage over any other intense exercise?

    You will burn calories, which may or may not result in fat loss - it depends on your diet.

    It will do very little for your stomach muscles.

    Skip if you enjoy it as an exercise but your food needs to in order as well as exercise to start seeing definition in your abs.

    No. It's just another high intensity workout, that should get your heart rate up so you burn fat. No different to running I'm guessing. I don't skip but if you feel a pull on your abs as you do it then that'll help tone the muscle underneath the fat. You'll be amazed at how toned you are already if you remove the excess fat!
