How long does it take to get sent the link for the questionnaire? I sent in my submission on Wednesday but yet to receive the link to the questionnaire, unless i'm looking in the wrong place.

It tells you in the pre-test information booklet when you will get the link for the online questionnaire, I think it's March 8th and must be completed by Noon March 15th. Usually you will get the link on your message board on your publicjobs account.

No I actually think If I picked Cork last year I would have got called because I got 494 in Limerick and i know that they called people in the 500s in Cork. I picked the cork the two years previous to that and got a contract in 2014 but I was a bit apprehensive if I got picked to in this years competition if I was in Cork to go back into the same department so that's why I choose Limerick but I forgot about that the CSO Office in cork would have been hiring for the census so Im just going with Cork now again. My brother got called twice for cork but couldn't take it either times. Actually I practice them a good bit, I try anyway and my brother who doesn't practice at all always get higher marks in them than me. Some people just have the ability as well.

Practically all Census staff will be based in Swords, Co Dublin, but this by no means rules out other openings in Cork. Good luck. :)

Just had one for the 2015 campaign last month. It's nothing to be afraid of, more of a chat to make sure you haven't seven heads or something like that! They go through the answers you put on the online questionnaire (work experience) and I suppose just try to relate that to the job you'll be doing. I was early for my interview, got to the place at 10.45am and was out the door by 11.15am so it's really quick

Jeez, they want Leaving Cert results. Pretty irrelevant in your 30s surely. Not that I can remember anyway.

I failed LC Maths, that might damage my chances considerably.

I don't know to be honest. Like I said, I never did my leaving cert, but I did a computer course, and I had some admin experience, and they seemed happy with that. However, don't pay much heed to me. I only got in once, for 3 months. I didn't get it the last two years, so I'm no expert. Best of luck anyway.

Doing up this SUSI application now and LC results are part of the form, mentioned failing Maths earlier in the thread - a relative of mine in the Civil Service recommended last year on another application that I withhold this unless asked in an interview as it'd likely result in an instant rejection, so I'm sort of caught between this advice and honesty on the info I give.

Could be anytime of the year, usually for 2 to 3 months duration.

People left my office early so they just took on more people or extended other's contracts. No real ramifications for you (apart from maybe an awkward last couple of days, and I wouldnt bother asking for a reference)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,844 ✭✭✭py2006

Wait, these jobs are only for a couple months?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24 Pygmy Shrew

I just did the online questionnaire, but there was nowhere to indicate the location preference even though it advises on the information booklet that you'll be asked for location choice when you are completing your online Assessment Questionnaire. Have I missed something?

I'm just about to do the questionnaire now, anything tricky on it or is it straight forward?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5 Lisalou99

I just did questionnaire there as well and no mention of location. I had a panic when i went back and read the booklet. Must be a mistake in the questionnaire if you didn't see it as well Pygmy Shrew??

if there's not an option to pick a location? whats going to happen, how are they going to grade us?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5 Lisalou99

I don't know its very strange?? Maybe they will send out another email if its a mistake?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24 Pygmy Shrew

I didn't think there was anything tricky in the questionnaire...no right or wrong answers really. Just need to read the case studies in part c very carefully to see what exactly they are getting at.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24 Pygmy Shrew

I think you're right LisaLou....it surely wouldn't allow you to submit if you'd skipped over an entire section

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,844 ✭✭✭py2006

    60mins???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 108 ✭✭mandymo

Were peoples names on the questionnaire? All I had on mine was a candidate number.....

Was the location not on the application that you sent in.I think it said Dublin or outside Dublin

Does it all have to be done in one sitting? Does it remember where you left off if you have to leave at any stage?

I could be wrong but I think it does need to be done in one sitting. The tabs on the bottom are previous/next didnt see a save tab

My name wasn't on it...just candidate number
