Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

    Hopefully someone can help me.

I was in the UK for a year in 2011. I have a NI number (I still have my old card) ....... and was employed so my taxes were paid for that year. I did not inform anyone I was leaving just flew straight from the UK to Australia for 4yrs and will return with an Irish + Australian passport.

Do I need a new NI number on my return ? will it be invalid by now ?
Do I need to inform anyone else of my return before starting work ?

I will need to depart with my Australian passport .... is it better to show my Irish on UK arrival as I will be staying and if I arrive as an Australian I don't want to be deported

    Thanks

    - Your NI number will still be valid, it only expires when you expire.
    - Nope

You have dual citizenship so you are an Australian & Irish (EU) citizen. While in the UK you would use your Irish Passport as an EU citizen, so no need for a visa and of course you are entitled to work in the EU too.
