Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The return leg match thread of the Liverpool vs Augsberg Europa League Cup tie

Now that the tuesday and wednesday warm up games are out of the way, the European matches that matter can kick off tomorrow.

First up, if you disregard any other Europa League tie that could be taking place before this game (which there could be because there's like at least 107 teams in this round), is the rerun of the Augsberg versus Liverpool game but now it's the Liverpool versus Augsberg match.

Sturridge was in fine fettle today, denied the existence of God in an interview, alongside his manager Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp agreed with his star striker, 'There is only one true god and that is Crom. Crom is harsh and unforgiven. He does not answer prayers and revels in blood and thunder. It is he, who I have fashioned my heavy metal football after. Crom favours tenacity and endeavour in his followers, even it pushes their frail bodies to failure and that's the kind of football I want to see at Anfield or by Crom, there will be reckoning.'

This round 32 match is on at 6pm tomorrow and if you insist on not streaming it, it's on BT Europe and possibly other channels.

Should be a full strength team. It'd be nice to have a comfortable win for Liverpool, but unlikely to happen as it rarely has lately.

hope it's a full strength team myself. With Sturridge, firminio and Origi up front. Maybe have Coutihno a bit further back with Can and Lucas. Might be a bit light in the middle but that team, with all due respect Augsburg, should be good enough to win.
Don't necessarily care if it's comfortable or not. Wouldn't mind a bit of a helter skelter game. 4-2 is my preferred score.

I fear the same middle trio but hope that Lucas will come in for Henderson or that we see a diamond and Couts on the flank of the jewel with two up.

Do you really think it will be, given the Cup Final on Sunday, will you not be resting players for it?

Augsburg? Sounds like a Formula 1 track.

Hope we don't see the can-hendo-milner midfield of doom again

I think it is pretty likely to be near full strength. I'll be disappointed if it is not. There was no game last weekend so no reason not to really. It is the best chance of CL football next season at this point, although it's still an outside shot of course.

This is an important game. Sunday is an important game. We need to get used to winning multiple important games in the space of a week.

Exactly. Of course they played a lot of games over December and Jan and even Feb but if we don't win this we won't have very many important games, apart from Sunday, until August and I don't want that.

Confirmed #LFC team v @FCAugsburg: Mignolet, Clyne, Lucas, Sakho, Moreno, Can, Henderson, Milner, Firmino, Coutinho, Sturridge

Confirmed #LFC subs v @FCAugsburg: Ward, Toure, Benteke, Origi, Smith, Teixeira, Chirivella

Tonights game is the 350th match in European competition which is naturally a record tally by an English side.

or the henderson misplaced pass game

Drink is doubled if it's a cross field ball.

Sickened that Ward hasn't been given a start yet. Has to be better than Mignolet?

    First Lucas gives it away
Then gets sucked in to make a challenge leaving half the pitch behind him
If it was an under 10 you would take him off😂

It's soft but there's no reason for him to throw his hand up like that, definite penalty.

Dunno why anyone would moan, clearly a needless handball.

    No extra time now

Mignolet had no idea where that was landing, could've been a nightmare.
