Hi, I'm moving to Dublin in a month. Any tips would be much appreciated:

    1. Work
    - What job boards do you use
    - What's the digital marketing industry like?

    2. Basic
    - Which areas are known for their art /music scenes
    - Which areas to avoid
    - How can I open a bank account before arriving in Ireland

    3. Play
    - Fun music venues, galleries, culture etc
    - Is cycling big?

Any other tips would be awesome.

    Thanks,
    Sash

I don't think you can. This requires a "proof of address", for example a bill in your name, which in itself takes a while to obtain.

I was just about to ask what part of Dublin you're looking at as this thread might be better suited to a different forum.

I may do, but I guess you're right. This thread may be better in the "Dublin" thread.

Grand so, I'll move the thread to the Dublin City forum. It'll probably be more useful for the fun and culture stuff anyway.

Board - as in internet forum? There are a couple of sites people use, indeed.ie, irishjobs.ie, monster.ie.

I don't know much about digital marketing but I know it seems to be growing, my company is hiring in that area considerably.

Tbh the post above about Temple Bar is right on the money, it is the sort of arts quarter but it can be horrible at night and it's very expensive.

There are loads of venues, Whelans is a fairly famous live music pub, Temple Bar has a couple of venues. Big concerts tend to be in the Three Arena or one of the stadiums.

A lot of people cycle but our cycling infrastructure isn't great at all, the city wasn't designed for cyclists.
