Anyone recommend a set of night-vision googles for night-time urban running?

Or would the restricted lack of peripheral view cause other problems

Probably something we should develop naturally (http://www.rockcreekrunner.com/2015/11/05/night-running/), but until we evolve...

No. I don't want a headlight - NVGs. Or at least to try them out. I'm used a lot of VR devices and of course there is a risk of the dizziness kicking in. Interesting UX proposition....

Unless you're a pervert, night vision goggles are ridiculously over the top to go running with.

You've mentioned UX a few times, do you mean User eXperience?

You might run into trouble with other runners using headlamps. That would cause major dazzle.

Have you never seen night vision used in the movies? It's how all the special forces guys get killed but McClane always survives ;)

Night vision goggles would be madness for running. You're going to miss so much detail in terms of potholes, kerb edges etc. due to the loss of detail that even the more recent generation night vision with IR illumination will miss, not to mention being regularly blinded by street, car and building lighting.

On top of reducing your field of vision to maybe 30 degrees, you have the weight, the cost (100s to 1000s for something decent), and how ridiculous you'll look with something that size protruding out in front of you!!
