Sleeping bag at Christmas

OK bit of a weird one this. I don't go camping or anything like that but I have a question about sleeping bags. At Christmas the relatives come to stay and I give up my bed.

Last year I purchased one of these sleeping bags from Amazon. At Christmas I used it in the sitting room. I slept grand but the next day my back was as stiff as a rake!

My question is was the sleeping bag a poor one or would it not matter what bag I had because once you sleep on a floor your back's gonna suffer!?

Your sleeping bag will have almost zero implication on how your back feels. You need to put an old duvet or roll mat/air bed under you to soften the impact on your body. Remember your mattress in bed conforms a great deal to your body. The sleeping bag once you're on top of it as minimum protection from a hard floor.

Buy a cheap air bed in Argos or Halfords and problem should be reasonable solved.

I see Lidl are doing this tomorrow. Any opinions? I usually find Lidl stuff to be tat but maybe they can't go wrong with a mat?

They're an insulating mat really, to separate you from the ground so chill doesn't suck body heat from you. It'll be a little bit of comfort on a floor too.

OP, get an airbed, and don't pump it too hard.

Very good my friends!! :-) I shall cancel my trip to Lidl tomorrow. Thanks for the advice. Would I be pushing my luck to ask for a link to an air bed that you'd recommend?!?! Or are they all much of a muchness?
