Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What's the different between a silent one and one a human can hear? Which is better?

The 'silent' one is not silent at all. I bought a few and they have a part that screws in and out. I wore them around my neck and the part that u nscrews would unscrew by itself and fall to the ground never to be seen again and the whistle is then useless. After losing a few I bought the plastic not-silent ones and my terrier never reacted any differently.

I prefer the one I can hear... because I can hear it lol! :D I did have a silent one years ago but was always messing around 'tuning' it trying to get him to hear it - in hindsight at the time I didn't know how to use the bloody thing and how to condition the dog to a whistle lol!! It also makes you and the dog(s) look good to passers by if you blow a whistle everyone can hear and your dog comes running - especially if they're anyway nervous of dogs ;) A couple of years ago I had Bailey out in a field in a park we walk in, there was a girl walking who started screaming and waving her arms and wasn't happy to have Bailey anyway near her (she had down syndrome).. he was a fair bit away from her and had no interest in her but I was able to blow the whistle and he came running to my side so they could see I was under control and he wasn't any threat - the girl calmed down immediately and was much happier.
