Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Getting a shelter dog

What's the best animal/dog shelter to get a dog from in the Cork area? I ask for a friend whose own dog had to be put to sleep a few weeks ago. He'll crack up without a canine companion, but, even though I got my (demented) Corgi Cross from Glansillagh seven years ago, I was able to check it out online first. They're gone offline and I don't want to waste a journey by driving somewhere with the friend and discovering there ain't no suitable dogs. Any place in the Cork area with an active website or Facebook page?

Folks, can I remind ye all that recommendations for individual rescues may be made by pm only.
    Thanks,

No matter which shelter is recommended why not give them a call and give an idea of what your friend is looking for (i.e. activity level, size, age etc.) as they may have a fit but it could be out with a foster family?
