Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Some weekend for Leicester. Even when they draw they gain a point on the top 3

**** defending. Late goals have cost us when we sit back. We need to stay on the offence

10 points behind a team who were relegation favourites and we play them at home.

Not at all. He'll buy free kicks as they get frustrated.

All about running down the clock now.

What a huge huge win. Massive considering the other results around us.

Smash and grab win really as we just weren't at the pace of the game at all for most of the game. Watford definitely deserved a draw at the very least but those 3 points are most welcome.

That'll do. 3 points when our rivals dropped easy points. Dont think it will make the season review DVD though.

Would none of those in the corner be a free against Depay for obstruction ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,064 ✭✭✭BKtje

The way I understand it, not if he is in control of the ball.
Impeding the progress of an opponent means moving into the path of the
opponent to obstruct, block, slow down or force a change of direction by an
opponent when the ball is not within playing distance of either player.
All players have a right to their position on the field of play, being in the way of
an opponent is not the same as moving into the way of an opponent.
Shielding the ball is permitted. A player who places himself between an
opponent and the ball for tactical reasons has not committed an offence as
long as the ball is kept within playing distance and the player does not hold off
the opponent with his arms or body. If the ball is within playing distance, the
player may be fairly charged by an opponent.”

He has Mensah making his debut beside him, needing a veteran protecting him and he puts in a performance like that. Really needs to have a word with himself. Desperate.

He realised just before kickoff he'd left his conditioner at home. Just couldn't concentrate after that.

    Scrap the cap!

Absolute kick in the nuts as a Watford fan. I don't think any United fans could really complain if we had won that game 2 or 3-0 to be honest.

But in the end, it was a good piece of skill, and poor piece of goalkeeping that was the difference between the teams (and a soft foul I guess). Disappointing but an encouraging performance. Good to see us have a go at a big team rather than just sitting back! Thought the referee did us no favours either, but those type of decisions you just don't get a lot of the time when playing one of the top clubs.

1 win needed in the next 10 to hit that magical 40. Would like to think we'll do it within the next three!

Daley Blind was an absolute liability and nearly gifted you goals.
I hope to **** he gets a right boloxin because his performance was unacceptable.
Fosu-mensah (I think on his first start) had to cover for him all game ffs.
Igaholo was greedy IMO, there were a few opportunities where he should have simply laid it off but opted to strike, this was your downfall.

Ighalo just gets his head down once inside the 18 yard box. It's outrageously frustrating at times, but who am I to complain when he's scored all those goals that has us in the position we're in at the minute. The chance where he could have squared it to Deeney for a tap in but shot and De Gea saved was the worst one of those.
