Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That RTE? Martin Keown is a bit nicer, saying he's running the show.

    Which, of course, he is.

Yeah, not at United, I guess.

Arsene does it all for us :pac:

Arsene cuts the grass when the groundsman is out I'd say :D

Please don't let him take a penalty here.

Ozil misses a lot of penalty's 2 in this tournament I can think of two for arsenal as well.

Missed his last 4 out of 5 for club and country I think. He had a good game though.

Hah, great timing. Although not quite what I had in mind. Will sell us a few jerseys though.

Disappointing we couldnt hang on to him for our coaching team. Think he will be a top coach.

Shame we couldn't keep arteta around, always struck me as a very intelligent person and player. Fair play to him for picking up a coaching spot under Guardiola, a great start in what's hopefully a great career ahead of him.

    Good luck Mikel.

    Thanks for everything.

    Who gets the armband now

Who do you want out of the club?

He's too quiet for me but he's well respected in the dressing room as well as being a model pro so it's hard to argue against him.

Maybe just give it to Xhaka now.

Laughed when I read that. True though, armband a bit of a curse.

Not that I want him, but I'd say it will be Mert...

It stinks of business in the far east and not football

For a club that is supposedly about stability, we haven't had a captain last more than a couple of seasons since Adams. It's a shame that we can't get a leader in their early-mid twenties that can stick at it for the long haul.

Maybe the captain selection doesn't really matter, if Wenger only has one more season and the new manager will choose someone else anyway.

Maybe Wenger will extend his contract for a few more years, and it does matter :pac:

Welcome to Arsenal, Park Inamoto-Miyachi Ju Yong. We hope you enjoy your brief visit

Maybe Arteta going to City is a good sign that Arsene will be moving on. I'm sure staying at Arsenal would have been a consideration, but with Wenger only having one year left on his contract, there could have been too much uncertainty.

At least at City, they know they'll have Pep for the next few years.

Wenger was managing in Japan 21 years ago, Takuma Asano is 21 years old... interesting

Ollie G with a peach of a goal after a beautifully timed run. Peach of a pass it must be said from Matuidi.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,940 ✭✭✭omega man

No way we'll be getting another top striker if giroud keeps this up

Way to stick it to his doubters. He has a brilliant attitude considering the unnecessary stick he gets. Needs better ball at Arsenal too. He suffered because the likes of Walcott and Chamberlain were piss poor

If ye listen to Hoddle it was put on a plate for him he couldn't miss

    What a w.anker

Jeez id love Antoine Griezman at Arsenal. A cracking player. Cant help thinking that Simeone and the Atletico regime made a man out of him.
Maybe Simeone can bring him when he takes the reigns from Arsene at the end of the season. :pac:

Now if we had Griezman working with Giroud we might have something special.

The stuff of dreams, but Monsieur Wenger wouldn't play that system in a million years!

He suffers because hes not playing against a league 1 defence when hes with Arsenal. Not taking it away from him but this changes nothing. We know Giroud, hes pretty good but that's about it.

Giroud got up and shook hands with the Icelandic player, no big deal and then sticks a goal in from the resulting free. Embraces Gignac his rival for that fwd spot coming off the field. He's a top class guy. England could do with an Ollie G in their ranks instead of the likes of that pup Sterling

Shove that up your Arsenal Giroud Doubters!

Nobody doubts his ability but he's nowhere near consistent enough to drive Arsenal to a title. Pity.

Iceland have been decent defensively in this tournament and even prior to it. Just ask Holland, England, Czech Republic, Austria

Giroud scored two against Iceland... Ronaldo who is a goal machine scored nothing

With better players around him he would be. Walcott and Chamberlain were disgraceful last year
