Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I think if blind plays today he will get absolutely battered in the air by Rondon.

Depay, Varela and Sneiderlin dropped and replaced by Darmian, Lingard and Carrick

    Very Surprised by all 3

    Dave
    Darmian - Smalling - Blind - Rojo
    Carrick - Herrera
    Lingard - Mata - Martial
    Rashford

I feel for varella he has been one of our best performers hasn't done much wrong but darmian has been solid mostly too.

Then it will be Berahino pace vs Blind.

I reckon we should of played Smalling and Rojo as the center backs and Varela and Darmian as the full backs.

Its so harsh dropping Varela, maybe he is tired though.

Don't see it as dropping any of them, they probably all need a rest, and more but not in a position to rest everyone who needs one.

Jesse coming back in at least sees Martial moving back to one of his two best positions. He really doesn't look at ease playing on the right.

Varela was caught out a few times too far up the field in the last game but I think it is a case of resting players rather than dropping them. The one you could question is Morgan, as he's played feck all really, but I've no problem with that as he's been mediocre so far this season IMO.

Hope we have improved on our set piece defending from midweek where we were all over the place.
West brom are very strong at set pieces and that's where they will target today.

Shocked that Memphis isn't playing as he has just began to show some form.

    2-1 to United

What is the point of playing those short corners when they end up going back tot he halfway line?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

These short corners have got to stop.

    2-1 to Utd

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,406 ✭✭✭Korat

What has happened to the Martial who used go for goal instead of taking two or three touches before passing the ball sideways?

    LVG's bloody philosophy that's what.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,346 ✭✭✭Quandary

Poor start from Utd but not surprising. We've reverted back to the slow laboured buildup with no end product.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

Think I seen Varela out there for a little warm up.

    Horrendous stuff so far.

FFS Blind always coming up putting pressure on and then is out of position.

He is centre back, WHY was he left wing there.

He is terrible but he has scored a few goals for us, (5th in our list of scorers this season)

Ya bitta pace but poor decision making and poor execution

Got away with that even if it was offside.

Looked level but he'll be delighted it was given as offside, bad miss.

The thing with Lingard is thst when he doesn't score he brings very little else to the table.

This has been truly awful stuff so far from Utd.

Absolute brain-dead from Mata on two occasions.

    That pure brainless moronic ****e.

Two of the most idiotic bookings I've seen in a while, and I watched Milner get sent off earlier!

He was ****ing spoiling for that Dean. What and absolutely useless ref

I was about to say that Mata was such an idiot for that first yellow card. No need for it whatsoever. Putting himself under pressure like that.

    Then that! He's an idiot.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,606 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

Don't know why people are attacking the ref there. Both were easy cards to give. Red got it spot on, sadly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

No complaints there, fairly wild swing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,346 ✭✭✭Quandary

    Hilarious.

The Mata red card will now deflect from how appalling this performance has been and LVG will be spared the criticism if Utd can salvage anything from the game.

A good ref gives some leniency. Dean has never been that kind of ref. A warning for the second challenge would have been fair enough, you see it all the time. But Dean has always inserted himself into matches. Its what he does.

Two yellow card offences. Ref was spot on both times.

No need for either but Mata put himself in a position to make the ref make a decision. Especially the second because the WB player was going nowhere.

What a comedy weekend for brainless red cards.

    Coquilan, Milner and now mata.
