Mata made it easy for the ref to be honest, whatever about so called 'hes always doing it' against Dean, he got that right. Utd fans should be aiming their ire at Mata for doing such idiotic things in the first half hour of a game.

Of course we will be annoyed at Mata. It was idiotic to give him a decision to make. But Mata has been absolutely class for us recently so we're hardly going to destroy him.

It's the magnitude of the fouls. These weren't little niggles, he blocked a quick free kick and kicked a player.

The sending off might be good for Utd. Being a man down they don't have the numbers to just keep possession they'll have to play a bit quicker and be more direct.

Well many supporters seem to think that every foul should be a yellow card which is not the case.

It all depends on the type of foul.

A 'warning' is only usually given if he gave away a niggle of a foul or something small. It was a pretty blatant and stupid trip. Time between fouls doesn't come into it when it was as blatant as that.
