    Hello all,

Could you please let any of your family, friends or work colleagues that have ever considered doing a triathlon know about our upcoming New-to-Tri Program. Over 8 weeks we will do our best to help build the skills, fitness and confidence to complete a mini-triathlon which will take place on 2 May in Shoreline, Greystones.
There will be a weekly coached swim session in Terenure College Pool and a bike/run session on Saturdays. We will also share a plan for other sessions that you can do during the week.

The training program starts next week and it is not necessary to be a member of Belpark to take part, in fact we would love to welcome members from other clubs and complete beginners alike. Please share with anyone who may be interested.

More information is on our website belparktri.ie/new-to-tri/

    Many thanks,
    Frank

    Belpark TC Secretary

    Hi Frank

Very interested in signing up for this. But like some it's the swimming part that would be my down fall. Is the swimming lessons beginners/intermediate as well?

    Hi,

All we ask is that you are comfortable swimming a length. We won't be able to teach you how to swim, however if you have the basic techniques we will be able to work with you to improve your balance, stroke, fitness etc.
We will split the group in different lanes based on ability (our sessions are usually split Beginners, Improvers, Intermediate and advanced but for this program it will depend on the abilities of those that sign up). For those that are a bit nervous or held off doing a triathlon because of the swimming we want to build confidence so that you can enjoy taking part in the sport as much as we do. We also hope to help those that are confident swimming to be pushed to achieve their potential.

I hope that answers your question and you are encouraged enough to sign up, if you do I look forward to meeting you over the next few weeks.

    Regards, Frank

For anyone who is unsure or is sitting on the fence, come along (and bring a friend) to our first session on Saturday to see what it is like. We will also be able to answer any of your questions. It takes place at 10am upstairs in the Base2Race triathlon store in Ballymount.

There will be a general introduction to triathlon, we will go over the program and what you can expect over the next 8 weeks. We will then head outside and get started with some run drills so please come in your run gear (we have tried to organise good weather, but you never know!).

    Cheers, Frank
