So this is a continuation of this thread. I want to know whether I am eligible to start a ltd company on my name? I'm neither an Irish citizen nor an EU citizen and I'm in Ireland on stamp 4. Appreciate any suggestions.

as far as I understand it no, you have to be either Irish or from the EEA. I had to check this for a US citizen last week. However the person who I asked did say they were not sure how it was enforced......

I thought the requirement was for one of the Directors to be resident in the state.

Added:

Permission to set up a business
The following groups are free to set up a business:
Nationals of EU countries and Norway/Lichtenstein/Switzerland
Non-EU nationals with a Residency Stamp 4
