Just looking for some opinions on this.... myself my girlfriend are sale agreed on a house and the vendor solicitor has told our solicitor that they requested the title deeds for the house 4 weeks ago and that it would be 2 weeks. 1 week ago they said a few more days, now still nothing.

Our solicitor says she can't do anymore which is fair enough but is this a normal amount of time for title deeds to be obtained from a bank?

I'm struggling to think of why such a task would even take more than a few days in this date and age so any advice/opinions would be greatly appreciated :)

Just to add - we were sale agreed before on a house last year and when we didn't hear anything for a while and couldn't get much info from the vendor solicitors about the contracts they then pulled the sale after we had paid for valuations, surveys etc.
