The Afghans still giving it a good go, keeping up with the run rate

Good effort from the Afghans alright. Can they cause an upset against England I wonder?

Well they are certainly giving it a good shot, England being slaughtered at the moment

Woah.. they won't make a 100 if the wickets keep falling at this rate.

England are flat track bullies of the highest order!

Embarrassing moment for Eoin Morgan.... first ball and leaves it, splatter.

Yeah it was really incredible to see in a t20 game.

Nice fightback by these two though, should give them a good chance to save england's blushes

Well it looks more or less over already, 13/3 off 4 overs

Don't seem to believe in themselves at the moment - one of the lads batting there now is only 17 or 18 - very tough situation to come into at that age.

I would say the 35 runs conceded in the last 2 overs coupled with Shahzad's early dismissal has also deflated them.

So they lose by 15 in the end, I'm very disappointed for them. If it hadn't been for that 2nd last english over and their horror start they could have done it

Afghans had their chance there and couldn't take it.

Defininitely, a little more composure and it was there for the taking.

It would have been nice to have yet another English t20 horror story too :D

Bangladesh going well enough I see - only need to score 7 an over with 7 wickets in hand and 10 overs? Will they do it?

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,033 ✭✭✭✭Richard Hillman

Starting to chuck it away (Pardon the pun)

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 12,782 Mod ✭✭✭✭riffmongous

Still a good chance on runs if they can get a couple of boundaries

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 12,782 Mod ✭✭✭✭riffmongous

Giving a wicket away like that wont help though

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 12,782 Mod ✭✭✭✭riffmongous

What a disaster for Bangladesh! Threw that away at the end

Absolutely pathetic from the Bangladesh lower order. Some of the most mentally frail cricket you will ever see.

Dhoni and the committee completely unsettled their bowler with their obscene amounts of "advice". He was there for the taking.

I really hope the umpires get a bollocking too for the amount of time they were allowing Dhoni to set his field and let the committee deliberate their advice. The last over must have taken 20 minutes.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 12,782 Mod ✭✭✭✭riffmongous

The advice certainly didn't have any effect either cause the balls were not very good, just terrible shots, if they had played along the ground they would have won

Absolutely laughable stuff from Eoin Morgan yesterday, claiming Afghanistan were the top associate nation. To the best of my knowledge they have only ever beaten one full member Zimbabwe. Holland have beaten England twice and I think they have also beaten both Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. We have beaten England, Pakistan, West Indies (in both T20 and 50 overs), Bangladesh (in both T20 and 50 overs) and Zimbabwe (in both T20 and 50 overs).

He might well be right though.

At the moment, they are better than us at the shorter forms of the game.

I don't think they are better than Holland at this format though. The Dutch would have won that game yesterday and probably would have finished top had they been in Afghanistan's group.

I wouldn't mind seeing a T20 game between the Dutch and the Afghans.

Nice thought, but you'd doubt it. Not good for India to lose etc.

Why are Australia dressed like Pakistan? :D

Bangladesh got fined for a slow over-rate versus India. Nothing for India :pac:

Ropey finish but the Windies make the Semi-Finals. England will make it if they beat Sri Lanka.

Entertaining game between England and Sri Lanka there. Could have gone either way, England getting better at edging close games.

    England into the Semi Finals.

Afghanistan have a slight chance if they can get a few more wickets
