Message users on login

Is there a way of setting something up where different users on the same network will see a specific message or prompt when they log on to the network? Just to add i dont want to do this via email if possible

You're way too vague. What's the network? Wifi? Windows AD?

Perhaps you could have a text file on a shared common network drive, set to be connected on login, and a link to the file in the startup part of the start menu. Could be the same file or different for each user.

I haven't tried this, maybe it might do the startup items before mounting the network drive (so the above would fail), in which case get creative with a scheduled task etc.
