Just curious to have people's view on the following. have located a house that we are very interested in buying.....it's with an auctioneer that is deemed to be the best locally. Would it be a bad idea to get him involved in the selling of our own house also?

In general yes it's a bad idea. The estate agent will know too much.

Tender the process, get prices from 3-5 auctioneers and see what's included and also their sales commission.

A few of them are crooks and difficult to deal with, especially some of the bigger nationwide agents who have a tendency to bend the prsa regulations to suit their sales targets rather than clients best interests.

We did this when we bought & sold. I think it was an advantage for us. The EA had skin in the game to get us both over the line. We ended up in a chain of three houses & four couples & having the same EA involved did help with communication.
