Does anyone know who the biggest magazine printer in Ireland is? Need to print 50k copies of a promotional magazine, I wonder who prints all the Irish magazines you see at Eason's? Preferably Dublin-based.

The biggest would be Webprint Concepts based in Cork http://www.webprint.ie

Also try Boylan Print in Drogheda http://www.boylanprintgroup.ie

Most commercial printing is outsourced to other countries

Read the publishers small print on the magazines and it is likely to list the printer.

As I understand it, Smurfit and the Irish Times have operations, but there have been lots of changes over the years.

If you are spending that sort of money, shop around.

Most of the magazines in Eason's are printed abroad - not worthwhile doing a short print-run locally.

That's what you may think, but a large amount of short run printing is done here and exported. (50,000 would be short run)

One of the bigger operations -

    and I use

Massive runs such as Smyths catalogue is probably done in China and imported on a container and take weeks.

Whilst I've used both those printers in the past and would recommend them, they are sheeted printers and probably wouldn't be economically viable for a 50k run.....

Didn't know that until now! Definitely check Walsh Colour out OP, they've always delivered on time and at a good price.......

Used to do similar quantities of advertising magazines. Walshes do a good job and deliver on time. I used some printers in the UK but only when the € and £ were closer, probably no real benefit at the moment.

I am also checking out print quotes and wondering if you could let me know who you dealt with in the UK? Sterling has weakened a little lately so I feel it would be worth checking but would prefer a recommendation rather than picking one from the internet.
