I am starting a social club where people can come in have a coffee/tea something to eat & listen to live music/comedy during the day. Prices would be reasonable. I have been in touch with another social club that have their own venue which they only open at night & they are happy for me to open it during the day. We are in talks about rent etc. I am at the minute on a TUS scheme so want to start something for myself. I have been advised to go to companies to get sponsorship but I'm not sure how that would work. Any advise?

Have you looked at the possibility of opening as a Play Cafe? These weren't around when our first two were toddlers but they seem to be catching on big time as a meeting place for parents/childminders who can work/relax while their kids are being entertained in a safe environment.

Have a look at this for an example http://littlemonkeysplaycafe.com
