I have a missed call this evening from setanta, 0818 number.
They are on the hunt for subscriptions once our 1 month freebie ends.
9.99 is the most I will pay for it, even more so with the end of the soccer season in England approaching .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 568 ✭✭✭fifi28

Got a call from them a short while ago asking if I was interested in subscription but I declined, told her not really worth the cost so she asked would I be interested if she gave me a special offer - again declined. We only had it for the gaa of which they only showed 1 game of interest.

I signed up for this but the station's never came! I couldn't really complain to anyone for not getting anything for free!

Ditto - A tenner is also what I had in mind

Not sure if they'll go for that as it is normally €25

i signed up for free month got call this afternoon, he offered me 5 months for €12.99p/m, told him i would have to think about it, he was fairly pushy, i tried to tell him call back friday he waffled away and is calling me back tomorrow, again might go for it if under a tenner

Got the call, was offered €9.99 a month for 2 months

I had been on 9.99 a month with them for about 12 months, last time my contact was up they offered 12.99 a month and refused to budge on the price ( they normally would budge ). Not in a million years would I pay 25 euro a month for it alongside the sky bill.

Same here, & the last games are shown this w/end on TG4!

Did you ring them up? as the same happened to me, until i rang them a few days later, was told either the signal couldn't have been strong enough or a backlog of people to work thru!

I got the call too, usually i get a pushy fella, but this time i got a delightful person from Fife & would have taken up the offer but didn't, as i was heading out the door, but are ringing me back, the offer was €9.99 p/mth afaik it was for 2mths (although it ends in mid May) & €12.99 for 5mths to bring you up for the next season, but won't be going for that as Euro2016 is on!

I haven't received a call on this yet, I'll definitely take it for a tenner a month if they do actually call.

I missed a call from them too. Can I just call them back and ask for the offer?

Missed a call from them yesterday. Had 4 missed viber calls earlier....googled the number and it was Setanta! Looks like they will try and contact you any way possible.

    missed them again!

I keep missing them too, I called them but the best they could do was 12.99 / month for 4 months. I asked about the 9.99 and she said its only the outbound retention team that can offer it.

Ask to speak to her team leader / supervisor

That's how I got a rather cracking deal on sky

No call here yet.. those who did get one though - are ye all a day or two away from the end of the free month? I think mine runs out next week.

Called just now, 9.99 for 2 months. Mine is up on Monday but they had been trying to get me all week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,452 ✭✭✭ads20101

Ok, signed up for another 2 months for €9.99 per month.

God, the chap wouldn't stop talking about sport. Man, I thought I was down the pub!!

Just a quick bit though. Anyone signed up for this offer will need to email them after 10days. Otherwise it could revert to normal price after the 2 months.

Missed 2 or 3 calls to my mobile from them over the past week. Then an hour ago I got a call to my landline. A lovely chatty lady offered me 2 months at €9.99. Took it:D.

Also got the call. Was offered 12.99 for months first, then 9.99 for 2 months. All done for 2 months

Just a bit of info here for anyone who's new to Setanta/BT. If you sign up with them you have to give 30 days notice to cancel but be careful here. That 30 days doesn't commence until after your next billing date so there's always a strong possibility that you could be caught for an additional month at full price if you give the cancellation notice on the wrong date. Unlike Sky who will charge only for the number of days used after an offer period, if you forget to cancel by a certain date, Setanta will charge you for the full month. Its all in the T & C's.

Most likely the agents who mentioned about cancelling 10 days after agreeing a 2 month offer for example are correct as that would most likely be a good few days before your billing date.

Best advice I can offer any of you is to cancel within 5 days of signing up or at least determine your billing date and work out what is the earliest and latest dates you have in order to give notce. Dont worry though as the notice isnt effective until after following billing date so you wont be cut off early.

I call the call yesterday too. Was given a choice of 2 offers - 2 months @ €9.99 pm or 5 months @ €12.99 pm. Took the first one. Although didn't have my bank details as was out and about so the lady said she will call me back on Monday to sign me up.

My billing date is 16th of Month. The chatty lady from Fife told me I must cancel by 17th May. She also said I could email them before that dateto cancel if I wished.

Think I'll go with the 5 months at 12.99, I usually get it for the baseball. Sounds like I won't get a better deal.

They don't have any payment details so they will cut you off once the month is up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,198 ✭✭✭buckfasterer

Forgot to post up. They rang me on Saturday morning, 9.99 a month for 2 months or 12.99 a month for i think 9.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,116 ✭✭✭✭Seve OB

got a call myself a couple of hours ago.

Offered 9.99 for 2 months without me even saying anything.
politely declined as I have only watch 1 match, not worth it for me.

If it guaranteed me every Liverpool Game, I'd be happy to part with my money
