new motherboard and processor

    was given a case ram hdd network card and monitor but processor and board are prehistoric. i will spend as much as need be but was just wondering has anyone an idea of where to buy both at as good a standard as possible for as cheap as possible? any help would be greatly appreciated

    Would need more info on ram type power supply, case type etc but if it has a network card the parts may be so old they are worthless now.
    As for motherboard and cpu they can be got very cheap but it depends what you will be using the pc for.

    Realistically if the parts are that old then the whole thing is literally worthless, and most likely wouldn't be compatiable with any new parts in any case.

    If you actually need a PC for casual use there are loads of still very decent Dell/HP/etc Core 2 Duo based desktops from the 2007-2010 era that cost about €50 and are excellent as web/media/office machines.
