Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

several teams tied in winter league

format in qualifying & final. 3 scores to count out of 4.

in the event of a tie, what is the criteria for seperating the teams?

at our club over the weekend, three teams tied for 3rd, so it was decided to add up the back 9's of the 3 cards that counted for each team & the winner awarded from the best total.

is this the best way as have seen in the past that the top card from each team were compared as in a normal competition, then the 2nd best if everything tied etc, so the discarded 4th card could effectively come into play?

    just wondering for future years?

Think the way its done in the GUI comps (JimmyB/PP). Qualifying is best 5/6 if a tie worst card is dropped from each side, still a tie worst dropped again, till 1 card then back 9,6,3,1 on the best card.

The way we decided ties in Athlone was

(winter league, team of 5, best 4 scores to count)

If after best 4 scores, there was no result. Then use best 3 scores combined. Then Best 2 combined. Then Best score. If that didnt seperate the teams, then use the 5th card.

This allows for best scope if on the off chance someone was unable to attend on the day - they wouldnt lose the countback until the very last condition.
