Must-try places to eat in city for lunch/casual dinner

Hi all A friend was looking to book the gentleman's afternoon tea in the Morrison Hotel this weekend but they're booked out. Can anyone recommend something similar to try instead? Something cool for a lunch or an early evening dinner. A must-try type place that wouldn't be that well known. Nothing too formal/stuffy. Thanks!
