Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A very weak total to win title but still amazing.
Is this the lowest winning total. To have league won with 77 on board.

nope united did it with 75

seriously? Are you ceasing supporting your own club?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,775 ✭✭✭✭Gbear

What do you mean by that??

That it's possible for a team to have so few key injuries, suspensions, such a small number of games, for 4 strong clubs to utterly fail (Utd, City, Chelsea, Arsenal) despite them all spending heavily, having neither a particularly strong defence, nor much of an attack, but winning loads of games by the finest of margins regardless, for such a perfect combinations of tactics, coaching and playing staff to come together in the first place to even get them within an ass's roar of the top of the table...

None of those individual elements were likely to come through for Leicester at the start of the season - hence people assuming they'd be 15th at best and one of the previous seasons' top 4 would be the champions.

Normally you'd talk about runner up teams and point to one of the above...
They just didn't have a tighet enough defence, they just didn't have the firepower to break teams down, they were pissing along until a big injury to their star striker happened or maybe just a world class unbeatable force won the league with 90 pts and they didn't have a chance.

But they ALL happened at the same time. It's bewildering.

Yeah but he's American so I guess he doesn't quite get the terminology. The date is August 2015 so he could only be talking about this season.

for all the Premiership doubters , is there a league out there that gives such drama - City a few years ago , United in Barcelona '99, Liverpool in Istanbul - the TV companies are no mugs thats why they pay.
I had become jaded with all the money sloshing around today , but Leicester have re-awoken my love affair with English football. Greatest achievement I have witnessed in sport in my long life - bar none - given the wealth of its rivals who would not really have seen leicester as a rival . Brilliant

They were all at the Vardy's house watching the game. I'd say they are already well on it!

Bit off the point putting champions league games in there, regardless of the teams involved!!

There was an ad on US TV less than 2 years ago joking about how nobody knew what 'a Leicester' was or how to pronounce it. It was promoting the PL on NBC.

I gave them sh*t last summer because they overpaid for Okazaki, but he was worth every penny in the end.

just emphasising that English teams really add drama to Eurorean football , like few others

Are the foreign (Spain, Italy etc.) media painting this is a great achievement or a criticism of the quality in the league? Or a bit of both?

They may not have anything resembling the same level of success but i think they will do well to be honest. They have honesty in abundance and great team spirit.
