Monkey you've smashed a few of my scores in the last few days! Gonna have to get to work :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,616 ✭✭✭JimBurnley

Can anyone tell me how to finish the levels where you can only move your arms a certain distance? How the hell do you stay inside it?

The way I did it was elbows into my body, forearms out, and just flick the wrists. Purposely miss some of the boxes on the edges where your health bar allows it. And by careful at the end, don't move an inch after last box until the level fully finishes. Good luck!

Cheers! I only tried it twice when I first got the game but I done so bad that I haven't bothered since! I'll have to give it another go

Ah the T-Rex levels! I actually really enjoyed them. As Jim said above, elbows into the body, but I had my arms bent and the 2 controllers held like a solid book, and flick the wrists. It only registers movement if you move your wrists, from what I can tell, so I was taking a full step left/right to hit the side ones. Pretend you're playing the worlds smallest drum kit!

Yeah, I have to say, everything was going very well for me last night. Have nearly all the Expert songs down, just need to finish up a few of them with a full combo. I only managed to beat a couple of your scores with a Full Combo, Insta Fail and Faster Song. Trying the Expert + levels, playing them on Slower Song with No Fail, trying to figure out the patterns, when you go back to Expert they are a lot easier!

Definitely need to build up my arm muscles more. There's a few of the Expert + levels (I'm looking at you, Commercial Pumping!!!) that require a lot of upwards strikes, and my arms are not able to keep up, can't lift them for the last few bits! Think I'll concentrate on Escape on E+ for now, seems the most manageable for now. Legend seems doable too. But, Beat Saber, Country Roads, Balearic Pumping, Breezer and LVL Insane seem impossible right now.

Picked up Beat Saber today after seeing ye talk it about here....I’m bollixed after 30 mins of it! All this talk of expert and expert+ is scary, finding it a bit overwhelming in normal mode :D

So played Beat Saber for the weekend and now I'm walking around work like the ****ing Terminator - my arms are absolutely aching! 2 thumbs (slightly up), great game :D

I was in agony after my first few days of playing it, thankfully that's stopped now. Still feels like a decent workout after playing for an hour or so. I usually have sweat dripping off my face! :D

Yeah I was reading online that the activity required for it is basically on the level of playing tennis, burning about 6-8 cals per minute. I'd believe it! :D

If you really get into Littlstar you can burn through 4 times that much

For the newbies to Beat Saber, don't be put off by the Hard/Expert/Plus levels. I'm playing this since launch, and for the first time over the weekend I finished an E+ without NoFail enabled. Actually finished 3 of them, $100 Bills, Legend and Elixir. The sense of accomplishment is massive with this. I was beaming behind the agony of my arms giving up!

    Fair Play!
I'm a while away from finishing a song yet

I reckon I have easily about 40 hours or more played, started on the normal, worked my way into Hard which looked impossible at the time, Expert was a pipe dream but started getting used to it after a couple of months, and only in the last month I've managed to get good at the Expert. Up until a week ago, I couldn't even follow the blocks in Expert Plus, now I can just about.

My friend for the Expert Plus was Slow Song. I highly recommend it. Allows you to get used to the patterns, a must in the Expert/+ levels. There's 1 pattern that I'm struggling with, and it's when the sabers cross over. I know exactly what to do, but I panic the second I see it and get it wrong.

    40 hours??!?

You should have weighed yourself before and compare to today!

I did a few on slow last night. some of them felt like with time I would be able to do em at proper speed. some of them seem impossible to me though.

Having said that, I did think that about Angel Voices on expert before and I can just about full combo that now so who knows!

I have a 780 or something combo on angel voices with instafail off. I know I can get a full combo on it but it's so bloody long, I slip up at a different point every time. One slip when you're a minute from the end is seriously infuriating!

Gave Honor and Duty a quick blast last night, alot of fun running around a strange looking WW2 experience!!
Worth it for the €8, not sure I understand the controls entirely, need to sit down properly with it.

As for beat Saber need to have a look at some scores see where im at.

The jump from Normal to Hard etc i found ok, even if it looked a little crazy at first. you start getting the hang of it.

Where I loose out all the time is accidentally hitting boxes with my unused saber in some places. For example a stream of Red boxes I accidentally move the blue to close and hit a box or something

Oh that becomes so irksome later on! You end up developing these weird wrist movements at the last second to avoid it!

Had another few gos last night at it. Still can beat $100 Bills and Legend without NoFail, but Elixia was deceiving me and couldn't do it last night. Balearic Pumping, Escape and Unlimited Power still seem impossible. Tried a few others and they're hard, my arms just can't keep up with the up cuts.

same here. there's like 2 sections in that song that I consider the tricky parts but if I do miss a note it's usually in one of the easier sections. Really annoying.

It's by far my favourite track in the game though. Really feels like a journey because of the length and how intense it gets

Same here. Herself plays it with me a fair bit. Has most of the expert levels done but she can't beat this. The first wave of uppy downeys always gets her. About a minute from the end. I do be nearly cheering her on while watching :D

Yeah my wife is putting me to shame with Beat Saber too haha She's already attempting Expert levels on some songs and has even posted scores on 2 of the One Saber tracks. Meanwhile, I can still feel my brain melting on the likes of Angel Voices and Commercial Pumping.

I did complete LVL Insane on hard last night though with just 2 misses, gave myself a little pat on the back for that :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,021 ✭✭✭✭Potential-Monke

Oh, FYI, if you decide on the dot blocks option, the patterns are different to the normal song.

That bit was so tricky to learn. I had to slow it down loads to get the rhythym down

On their Facebook page, in the comments they said definitely sometime in March

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,755 ✭✭✭✭mrcheez

remind me again, is that paid for? Any idea on price?

    Probably €9.99

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,021 ✭✭✭✭Potential-Monke

I believe they said 3 DLC's with 10 songs in each at €9.99 a pack. Worth it imo.

I have also decided that Pop/Stars is impossible on E+. Even slowed down, I can't keep up with switching sides, happens way too often!

Nearly have County Rounds on E+. Nearly. Couple of parts I'm still not great with.
