Reading this thread lately has given me a business idea. Professional care for those who have become addicted to Beat Saber and lost everything because of it. Should be peak market potential in about 1.5 years time. :D

Ok...... what am I doing wrong.

I'm trying to get past level 8 and even though I only miss at the very most one box, I am well below the score required to pass.

Ok...... what am I doing wrong.

I'm trying to get past level 8 and even though I only miss at the very most one box, I am well below the score required to pass.

The score is dependant on 3 factors:

    - 70 points for your pre-swing (90 degrees for full points)
    - 30 points for your follow-through (60 degrees for full points)
    - 10 points for how evenly your cut it. It doesn't need to be perfectly along the arrow, just two even chunks

Took me a while, but figured out that if you flick your wrist in the direction of the cut, you will get more points. 100% necessary for E+. Takes a while to get the hang of it, and it's why I think this game will live on for a long time. No one will get a perfect score. It's just not possible imo.

I haven't played Beat Saber since I got to the disappearing arrows level on the campaign, but I'll get back to it eventually.

How the hell do you do those disappearing arrow levels, just keep looking into the distance and try to hit the blocks using peripheral vision, while also remembering which way they pointed???

This is what I done pretty much! Another handy way is to try watch in your periphery which way the box spins as it appears. They all come out the right way up then flip if it's an up cut or it turns to its side if it's a sideways one.

I got stuck on the ones where you could only move your hands a certain amount. Managed to get both of them but I'm now up to a level which is on expert and you're not allowed move your arms much and you've to get a full cut! Dunno if I'll ever beat it

I stopped playing campaign for a couple of weeks, just played free play. When I went back to campaign I walked through loads of it.

All this Beat Saber talk has got me excited about VR again.

Don't have the move controllers yet.

    Best place to buy atm?

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,022 ✭✭✭✭Potential-Monke

It's digital only, so the PS Store. But you need the move controllers, and best of luck finding them. One of the lads has been looking for them since November, no where has any, even Amazon. North America has the same stock issues. I've reached out to Sony yesterday because no game shop can give me an answer on when they'll be back in stock.

I got mine on Amazon from shop called rare waves USA just under a month ago. They came from America. Took about 5 or 6 days to arrive to the UK and didn't have to pay any tax. They were pricey though, over £100 for the pair. Which is pretty mental to be fair. Cheapest I can find on Amazon now is 130.

Keep an eye on eBay and the likes. A buddy of mine got a used pair of PS3 ones on eBay for 70 quid.

Few places selling the move controllers on Amazon now. Just over 30 each

Beat Saber have announced first DLC pack will be released on 14th March

So, I more or less have Country Rounds on E+ down. Not yet near playing any E+ with NoFail on, but getting some pretty high scores on some of them, namely: $100 Bills, Legend, I Need You, Be There For You and Rum n Bass. I think I'll be able to do $100 Bills, Legend or I Need You on NoFail soon. Actually went back to get a Full Combo on the Expert levels, and the difference now is incompatible. I remember struggling with the Expert levels not too long ago, but after a few weeks of playing E+, they seem simple in comparison.

Saying that, there's 2 I reckon I'll have a serious struggle to do on E+, Unlimited Power and Pop/Stars. I just can't keep up with them. They still seem impossible. Throw the 10 new songs in next week, and I feel they may never be completed!

This is after becoming the Beat Saber thread instead of the PSVR thread.

I see that Ultrawings is reduced down to €9.99 - anyone have it? Is it up to much

I have it on my Go and it's great on that, but also getting rave reviews on PSVR / PCVR etc

Ultrawings is great, it's not easy though and will make you barf if you're not careful.

Thanks lads, might give it a shot tonight!

Just purchased Accounting+ on a great recommendation of a workmate. Looking forward to giving that a go.

Also, PS Store has some seriously good discounts on a lot of PSVR stuff. Check it out, Playstation Presents.

All the talk on here I decided to jump back into a bit of beat saber!!

    Great craic.

So this week Skyrim was bought and played for the first time. The scale and stuff is unreal, played 90mins of it.
Electronauts is a crazy experience not sure what I'm supposed to do but it's fun!

But the winner of the week is Honor and Duty for me.
    What an absolute blast.

So Borderlands 2 with Aim support seems to be a game-changer (literally)

I might jump for this when it goes on sale after I've completed a few more from my backlog

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,301 ✭✭✭✭gerrybbadd

I see Thumper is on sale at the minute too. I tried the demo but didn't quite get it. I think its either €4.99 or €5.99 at the minute

It's good, if you like rhythm based games. Takes a while to get used to all the different bits, but the game is good as giving you the extra 'moves' level by level. Gets quite intense at times.

Played Accounting + last night. It's alright. Just about worth the €6 I paid. Still have some 'hidden' bits to find, but don't know if it's something I can go back to. Seems like a 'been there, done it' kind of game.

I've been eyeing up the aim controller since I got the PSVR but can't seem to find it anywhere for a reasonable price. Everywhere I look it's £90+ for just the controller.

The idea of shooting people with the gun in my hands sounds great too but I'm a hooer for buying games and never playing them and it's a bit too much of an investment in case I don't play it :D

Ace Combat 7 is reduced to €45. Am after buying it now

Said you must be tell lies then looked at Amazon!
    That's crazy.

It's a great add on to have.

It's like when I got VR with Gran Turismo Sport I was out in the sales right away looking for a steering wheel.

Anyway it's not £90, without coming with a game, good!

It's 52 Euro on CeX and they usually give a 2 year warranty even though it's second hand. You can buy it online from them also, and I'm pretty sure delivery is free over 40 Euro: https://ie.webuy.com/product-detail?id=7117198vrac01&categoryName=playstation4-accessories&superCatName=gaming&title=official-sony-playstation-vr-aim-controller

Picked up Accounting + and Raw Data today - Accounting is hilarious but quite short first time through, there are secret levels though (I haven’t figured out how to get to them yet :D). Raw Data is a bit disappointing if I’m honest - I loved the demo with the dual pistols and contact reload but it turns out these are skills acquired later in the game. Character selection isn’t too bad in fairness, played a round with the ninja and the gun cleric but haven’t touched shotgun or bow guys yet

All you're doing is depleting my wedding fund!:D:pac:
