Don't trust any review from Gamespot. A complete idiot reviewed Everybody's Golf and took points away because the camera didn't pick up his club when putting.

Started into Blood and Truth there. It's very on rails I gotta say, but one thing I noticed is that you can't seem to go back to a waypoint after passing it.

E.g. I missed something and wanted to go back, but the prev waypoint disappeared

It's going for cinematics though, and here it does excel. Voice acting and atmosphere are all really good.

It's really low res on my OG PS4 though, so I'd say it would look a lot better on a Pro.

Did you play the London heist? Is it as blurry as that?

  • €35.99 in Argos for Blood & Truth

I've the PS4 Pro and played London Heist. Wasn't blurry at all.

Very tempted to get B&T. It's a quid cheaper in Smyth's btw

I'm using a V2 headset and PS4 OG and it is a definite improvement over London Heist, definitely one of the best looking VR games I've played so no complaints from me. I'm sure it would be slightly sharper on a pro but it's absolutely playable and enjoyable on base hardware too. I did only get to play about 15 mins tho (stupidly decided to try it out at midnight with work at 6am :D).

That's great, any planned release date for this update?

I don't recall London Heist being blurry.

And I don't think it's me being spoiled by sharper visuals on the Go / Quest as I bought Space Pirate Trainer on the PSVR last month and I thought visuals on that were great.

What I'll do tonight is boot up an older game like Skyrim and see if it appears blurry too (last time I played I don't recall it being blurry).. then I'll know it's just that my expectations for what I see in VR have changed.

    Anymore opinions on it?

  • Anymore opinions on it?

    It's incredible

It literally let me flip two double barrel shotguns like Arnie

Then I went into slow mo and put four slugs into a bad guy and I then proceeded to give him the finger

Loving it too, I’d call it a John Wick simulator :D had to turn it off to save it for the weekend

Yeah I tried it again and the gunplay definitely gets better after first 30 mins or so that I tried the first night.

It would be perfect if it didn't have scripted crouch positions and was a bit more Superhot-ish allowing you to decide when to crouch etc, but it's still a lot of fun.

Graphics-wise it does seem on par with my other games (or probably even better) so it does just seem that I was seeing it all after a few months of only Go / Rift, so I guess ignore what I said about it being more blurry.

Blood & Truth gets 2 thumbs up from me anyway, brilliant game and definitely one of the best games I have played on the PSVR. I’m on chapter 9 now and climbing a London tower block blasting chavs all the way up.

Everything is built for immersion - having to actually climb scaffolding with your hands, hanging from said scaffolding with one hand shooting guys below in the face with the other :D

Tip: The game tells you to play seated but you are better off standing during gunfight areas so you can lean around walls and cover, or duck. I keep the seat nearby tho for seated sections.

Does anyone know how to activate precision mode in B&T? Seen elsewhere that it’s the move button but that’s doing nothing for me and I’m on a part now I could badly do with some breathing room!

press the Move button on both controllers at the same time... you can do it every 5 seconds or so

Cheers man. Well that's something I'll need to try on my 2nd playthrough, just finished it now and never used it once - was it explained how to activate it at any stage in the game? I probably made some parts a lot harder than necessary for myself without it!

Absolutely blown away by it - the story, the missions & the gunplay were incredible and that ending!! :D Probably the best 40e I've spent on any game in quite a while, vr or flat.

I bought it yesterday but fell asleep before I could give it a go. Can't wait to give it a blast tonight. Is there replayability to it? I think I might be the only person who has never played London Heist so I have no idea what to expect.

Yeah there's a fair few collectibles & other stuff in each level to make it worth a 2nd playthrough. There is also a list of Time attack challenges to take on after. Also the fact that its basically your own John Wick simulator so should be good to dip in to whenever you need a proper VR shooting fix :)

They are bringing a New Game + and some other things like challenges in an update coming soon as well. London Heist might be worth a look after you finish B&T but only really to see what they built off for the game - it was the first VR Worlds game I fired up when I got the headset and it blew me away.

yup, the first time you encounter an armoured rifle guy in the hotel/casino level near the start (where you lay the mines etc)

My bad so, I was about 5 cans deep playing that part haha

Haven't played it yet, but I'm looking forward to getting it at some stage. Someone I know said it's like a VR version of Time Crisis, which I think would be absolutely fantastic in VR (along with Point Blank, seriously, re-release Point Blank in VR!!!). Would they be wrong? Loved Time Crisis back in the day, either in the arcades or eventually at home on the PS1 with the GunCon.

Not too far off Time Crisis to be fair but a lot more interactivity than that series (physically climbing ladders etc). Some parts are chase sequences where you are continually moving forward blasting fools but most of the game gives you options of where to move and strafing behind cover etc. If you are a time crisis fan I’d seriously recommend Crisis VRigade - can be picked up dirt cheap but it’s very unforgiving, can be played with moves or Aim (a much better option from my experience).

Without Parole did a Why We Love of Crisis VRigade.

It looks really good and apparently a lot of play time due to difficulty.

Yep they started with a bank heist and put in a new harbour level recently, it’s tough as nails - 3 shots and you are back to the menu.

Speaking of cheap games, need to give a recommendation to Honor & Duty D Day. While firewall devs have been trying for the last week to unbreak their game, HDD (a. 2 man dev team) are releasing patches and updates continuously. Like crisis vr, it’s cheap enough to pick up but should satisfy any TDM cravings people have a for a VR FPS. Seems to be getting a lot more players now because of the firewall issues.

Anyone else notice a lot of poor graphical issues in Blood & Truth? I'm on a standard PS4 but the graphical pop in is insane. In the first scene where you can move, you're standing beside a wall and the textures kept blurring before popping in as clear and crisp textures (This is just the easiest example to describe, it happens all throughout the game). It's really noticeable when you pick up a clipboard, it will be unreadable as blurred colours for about 5 seconds and then pop into view where it is crisp and readable. On top of that, I've experienced lots of world glitching where walls flash white or disappear for a second. I've killed enemies with the shields where the shield stays floating in mid air after they go down, and even had an enemy simply fall through a floor and get stuck under the world. I'm playing the physical version of the game but surely that shouldn't matter?

It's a superb experience but the issues really break the immersion.
