Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What an awful signing Schweinsteiger was

It's not like he cost a lot. And hes still the best footballer in that United midfield. His legs aren't what they were for sure but hes still useful.

Surprising how poor United are in the second half........Coutinho's goal really killed them understandably.......damage was done at Anfield..

He hasn't been great, but in fairness all of us would've jumped at the chance to sign him at the time as well.

    Firmino's had a quiet night.

Why was Martial taking off at half time? Clyne is rubbish and had a yellow.

Not to often I remember us coming to OT and treating it as a training games with 40 minutes left...!!!

The equaliser killed it for us completely.

I have no complaints anyway, LFC far and away the better team over the 2 legs. Id rather go out like that than a bad referring decision robbing us.

We are a poor side atm but Klopp has you lads playing like a team and with some real conviction.

Ye are on the up, while LVG has his hands on the wheel we are only going one direction.

Good luck for the rest of the competition.

Hope we get Bilbao in the last 8, would've said Sparta Prague but they were great against Lazio tonight.

He was absolutely worth a punt at the price, on the off chance he got back even 90% of his previous form.

    What? He wasn't taken off.

EDIT: Have I missed some sarcasm?

Liverpool have gone to OT previously and beat quality teams. This is not one of those wins (on agg). Utd are terrible. Still, we'll take it.

Incredible to witness the decline of United this season. Klopp on the other hand is doing amazing work with the team

I should clarify, those aren't chances converted, points and goals taken rather.

    Martial scored.

A pretty stunning turnaround, particularly Lovren, I'm even spelling his name right lately.

Well strictly it is 1-2 each as Coutinho had one tipped over by de Gea.

If you had have went one up and needed two more to go through when Fergie was in charge I can garuntee you would have pinned us back and bombarded our goal with shots and crosses until we crumbled.

I don't think a lot of the United fans realised how lucky they were to have such a great manager for such a long time.

Not really. We are a very ordinary team with an ordinary manager. We are relying on two teenagers to win us ever game which is pretty pathetic.

Game was won at anfield where we just didn't turn up at all. Showed a bit of fight in the first half and who knows what would have happened if we went in 1 nil at half time tonight although the Liverpool were always going to score IMO.

Best team over 2 legs won but both are very ordinary teams

Fcuking wonderful to hear the Liverpool fans singing in the 88th min at OT..

on a side note, who'd love to hear the whole of Anfield sing Rafa rafael, rafa rafael. rafa rafael..................rafael Benitez when the toon come to Anfield. Fitting tribute to the man.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,366 ✭✭✭✭8-10

Honestly why did United not even try to score at Anfield? That's 100% where it was lost. Turned up looking to take a 0-0 back to Old Trafford and never even attempted to threaten and are now paying for it. Same with this second half. For Christ's sake lads you need to score 3 times so you bring on 2 RB's and a Defensive Midfielder and threaten even less than in the first half. What is going on here?

Yes but Liverpool are less ordinary....and they have a future with their manager. Hes making progress. All LVG is doing is making a smell of the place.

I'm watching the game on BT on the telly, but told the missus I'd watch the build up on my laptop. At 7 I couldn't see a stream for Setanta so put on MUTV for a bit. David May Described Sakho as a duck egg and all in the studio chucked about it.

I bet he's not chuckling now.
