Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

In the blue corner we have F.A Cup semi-finaliats Everton and in the Red corner we have Fa cup double holders Arsenal.

Both teams are experts in snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Who will mess it up today? Could Arsenal actually win a game. Will Everton serve a smackdown and send Arsenal hurtling out of the top 4 for the first time since September. As much as it's been a topsy-turvy season this game will no doubt be a topsy-turvy game, as both teams are capable of lapses of judgment in defence. In any case, expect a serving of goals, it'll be toasty.

    Team news

Everton (4-2-3-1) Robles; Coleman, Jagielka, Funes Mori, Baines; McCarthy, Besic; Lennon, Barkley, Cleverley, Lukaku.

Subs: Stones, Kone, Niasse, Deulofeu, Osman, Howard, Galloway.

Arsenal (4-2-3-1) Ospina; Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal; Coquelin, Elneny; Iwobi, Ozil, Sanchez; Welbeck. Subs: Gibbs, Mertesacker, Giroud, Walcott, Chambers, Campbell, Macey.

Referee Mark Clattenburg (Tyne & Wear)

United were silly to sell Welbeck.

Poor by robles, but a great goal none the less

How does Martinez get away with consistently having such a poor defensive set-up

He didn't want to sit on the bench behind Rooney, Falcao and RvP.
    Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Yeah, I don't think Ferguson would ever have sold him though.

Sure but only because of where he was born.

I thought he was a very useful squad player too.

Apparently something made very clear to moyes was to hold onto Welbeck. Fergie could see the player he's becoming but hindsight is great I thought he was awful.

McCarthy hasn't progressed this season, lacks confidence.

Amazing that Martinez still doesn't know how to set up against arsenal.

He was of course but if he didn't want to be that squad player I don't think Fergie would have hesitated to get rid. There was a lot more scope for games for forwards under Fergie than van Gaal in the way they set up.

I'll be surprised for Martinez is still in charge next season.

Could have been a penalty if he went down the first time but he should get a yellow for that pathetic effort of a dive.

Game over, everton typically tactically unaware, poor goal to give away.

Cut open again, nice goal, and that's that.

Just seeing Iwobe run to the camera...do Sky still do matches in 3D? Haven't seen it mentioned in ages so I doubt it, but just remembered it.

Owen Hargreaves is a deeply uninteresting pundit with an irritating speaking voice to boot.

Everton have been shocking at the back; they could be in for a serious hiding if Arsenal keep their foot on the gas.

Arsenal fans scrapping among themselves at FT. Looked like pro and anti Wenger fans.

Prepare to be surprised so. Martinez is going nowhere any time soon.
