Surprised it managed to get a message with no pic

Was the message from outside the country?

That from a profile with no pic but did write a message with info from profile. It's a ghost town for boys.
Those are crazy high figures for a guy with no photo, did you put him down as bi?

Has anyone ever reverse searched online.
This is where you enter your personal details (age/gender) and your location as the search target and suss out your competition.

I did it once and felt a bit daunted. Leaving low self-esteem issues aside, was curious if others had done similar.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,247 ✭✭✭Tigger99

Oh yeah totally. Wanted to see what the other profiles were like. Some lovely girls and some v negative ones. I was nearly tempted to message them about where they were going wrong :D

I mostly looked to see if there was anything I should /could do differently on my profile.

    "Yummy xx"

Seriously dude? How about you go eat your own tongue?

I was feeling bad all night. Thoughts racing, feeling like I've been making a fool of myself, that I am the worst. Then I get this message at 7am on a Friday morning and know things aren't so bad. All is right with the world. I am far from the worst. "Yummy" dude exists.

Not exactly that but I've change interested in to the same sex as myself to see what I was up against :pac:

I do that all the time! It's a favoured pastime when I have nothing better to do; it's fun to see that everyone is in the same boat but dear god, how some people choose to market themselves.. I'll never understand. To each their own, I'm sure many a person has seen my profile and gone "Wtf" :pac:

I have yea, more for the curiosity rather than comparisons. I found most of the profiles and pictures were terrible, was almost frustrating as to how bad they were.

and yet probably more successful for some weird reason!!

But I don't let those things trouble me, I keep a piece of paper in my desk that I read everyday, with the following:

    a) "you're awesome"
    b) "George Clooney and Ryan Gosling want to be you"
    c) "James Blunt wrote a song for you: you're beautiful"

Thanks for this, it made me double up with silent laughter and the person next to me thinks I'm weird.

I'm in a "couldn't be arsed" phase right now. Have 21 unread messages in my POF inbox and absolutely no inclination to even open them.

I may get my mojo back in another couple of weeks. At the moment I'm still so wiped from the end of the academic year that I haven't got the energy to deal with all the fuckwittery that goes with it.
