Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have a feeling htis is going to be something really stupid/normal, but anyway...

Am I missing something really obvious, or what can't I see here?

Tax? couldn't be that high surely.

The KTM RC (Duke) 125 2015 is normally around €4,750
No price on Irish Site - http://www.ktm.com/ie/supersport/rc-125/
and if I search for it on the site I can see sales promotions, but can't make much sense of most of them.

Shipping to N.I. It only costs €40.80
From HERE where the bike is only €2,995.

So am I missing something really obvious, or is this just a good price?

    €3,035.80 Delivered to Northern Ireland
    + VRT - €250?
    Total = €3,285.80 - In Ireland.

I didn't think there would be any vat coming from France, would there?
    Is it difference for vehicles?

You pay vrt & vat on an imported vehicle as it's treated as NEW if not at least 6 months old AND with at least 6,000km on odo.

Ah, Okay, and is Vat still 23% or higher?

    Not sure of the category.

You're also paying a markup for the dealer employing staff, paying bills, and also some profit I guess.

There's a VAT liability no matter where you buy it, as other countries have different rates.

    So bike + VRT + VAT @23%.

Don't forget : if you pay VAT in UK, you can reclaim it from them once you show you've paid Irish VAT.

Bear in mind if you buy a bike in UK, new, unregistered, then if it's shipped in its crate, unregistered, then you might get it without UK VAT and only pay Irish VAT.

Some shops in N.I. are familiar with Irish VRT & VAT so should be able to sell it to you including Irish taxes, with RoI reg done for you

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
