Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Gents can anyone recommend an oil I can use for a very dry itchy scalp, I've very short hair too so Brylcreem isn't really an option, something more like a rub.
I'm not interested in Medical stuff as I've been to Doc several times and stuff they give you makes it worse.

So basically can anyone recommend a good Natural Oil or herbal type rub.

Have you tried tar-based shampoos? Neutrogena have one called T-Gel although I think there a couple of different variants of it.

Alpecin Anti-Dandruff worked best for me. Found it after lots of trial and error.

Used it years ago when I used to style my hair with mousses/gels/sprays. That stuff killed my scalp. T-gel was brilliant.

Have eczema, so I'd like to try something natural, not shampoos, as I've tried almost everything. But I'd like something that isn't smelly so I can use it anytime

Coconut oil can be good. However you do need to wash it out of your hair before you leave the house. Leave it in for a few hours as well.

Did you ever think about washing hair with baking soda, wash it out completely, and then rinse with apple cider vinegar.

It works wonders..lleaves youe hair fresh clean and no itch or dandruff. All natural and no need for shampoo or conditioner with strips your hair of natural oils.

My scalp get dry, flaky and itchy. I have tried a few inc T Gel/Nizorel etc and also I regularly moisturise. This works short term but gets blotchy ,itchy and a bit sore again in no time. I do wear a hat out n about now but these dry spots are a curse, the skin on my back gets dry and itches a bit as well. Im looking for a miracle moisturiser ;-)

I had awful problems with a dry scalp, if I ruffled my hair, you could collect a small bag of the dried skin that came off. I used keratine for a while and it work but was expensive. Eventually found alberto balsam tea tree shampoo. Works a treat, never any problems since, only €1.90 as well.

Yep, tea tree oil is definitely another avenue to research.

Almond oil is another one that's similar to coconut oil in that it's relatively cheap (boots) you put it in overnight then wash out in the morning. Noticed a big difference in my hair when using it, however I didn't have scalp issues so can't comment on whether it will clear it up completely for you OP

Just an update lads, been using Bren's idea of the tea tree shampoo for a week now and the difference is huge, still a little bit of dryness but nothing like it was.
    Thanks for the idea's.

Capasal shampoo, the green one with tea tree oil, is very effective, I've found..
