    Found this little pamphlett lining a biscuit tin in a deserted house today.
    Contains instructions on the construction of a beehive air raid shelter.

    Thanks for the link. It was in the bottom of a Lamb Bros (Dublin) "Sunny Smile" toffee tin. Must have held 5lb of toffee!

    sounds like Lamb Bros (Dublin) "Toothless Smile" might have been more appropriate!

    When I saw Department of Defence, not An Roinn Cosanta, and War, not emergency, I assumed it was not from Ireland.

    Clearly it was Irish, but the authorities then had a shortage of Paper, Ink and money, and also wanted the message to be read, so wrote it in the language of the people.
    The incumbent wasters could learn from this.
