I have posted images from imgur and when I post without selecting the l,m or s size I have got requests to resize the image, I don't mind and try to post in l.

Images should be no larger than 800 pixels on their widest edge, yours was 3697 x 2079 so it was a whopper! It's really obvious for desktop users - I found it difficult to scroll past tbh
I've resized it for you so no harm done :)

Anyhoo - back to the thunder etc etc

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,467 ✭✭✭jimmynokia

Thanks I'll keep that in mind in then.

The photos look fine on mine. Only a reply to the last photo caused it to be enlarged in the quoted part. Otherwise, the original images are grand for me.

You made the picture too small, took a lot of definition and detail out of it.

Large pictures are better off being posted as clickable links.

I've resized the original post since for Jimmy - took a while longer to resize the quoted pic which is why it was still displaying as large for you but its fixed now - I hope!
The guideline across boards is that images should be no bigger than 800 pixels on their widest edge - any bigger can make browsing/posting/quoting a pain for users depending on the device they're using.
As noted above - larger images should be quoted as links & I've added a link to the high res image in the op

    Mod Note
Hope that explains it - lets get back to Convection, thunderstorms etc :)

Starting to get a bit active there, pity about the street light pollution and the lack of a lens cover on the cam.

Mammatus looks portentious but usually occurs without CBs.
