Hopefully the east and Dublin may see some action. I cannot help but feel that this could be the last chance this summer to see a genuine heat effect thunderstorm. It's unlikely we will get a blast of heat from the continent again like what we got over the last few days. I'm heading for bed but will leave curtains open just in case.

Might get interesting about 3am.. The big blob over the south is on course for Dublin.

It's constant here, lost count of strikes
Storm is directly south so if it's moving due north I'll have a direct hit here

It's moving NNE hugging the coast, will make for great lightning viewing for Wicklow and Wexford coasts.

Maybe later some storms will hit land.

This stuff is moving North, should see some sort of action on the East coast in the next couple of hours

Southern sky is just continuous lightning still
No sleep for the wicked here :D

It's not really moving north, more NNE through the Irish Sea as predicted. Should be a good light show for anyone watching from the east coast, and possibly some more localised activity later :)

Just been a strike inland west of Arklow, about 20 miles I'd say.

For those who don't already know it, lightningmaps.org shows the places where lightning has struck and realtime sound circle for the thunder.

I'm normally scared of lightning but I've had some wine so that has helped my fear :D
