Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yay or Nay?

Was looking at a few 2013-2014 BMW s1000rr the last few weeks but looking at the maths, I wouldn't be paying too much more for a brand new one. So went in to Keary's BMW and got a very good price...

This might sound trivial in the grander scheme of things, but the colour is what is bugging me
It's either all black or this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQw0IAMn8Ac

Can see people hating it and I'm not even too sure would I like it in the flesh. I don't know if there are even any bikes in that colour scheme around?

Don't worry about what anyone else thinks get what you want. I quite like it, I like a black and red combo, however its as if its missing some red at the front or something. Are there no other colour combos available?

I'm not a major BMW fan but I can't recall any finishes that I actually dislike. Personally, I like it but you have to satisfy yourself.

I've had my for 8 years and I remember being certain that it had to be that colour scheme at the time and I definitely don't regret digging in about it.

Although not that much choice there, the thing to remember is that the day you buy a bike is the day you sell it. Nothing wrong with the black and red but at same time no point getting some outlandish colour scheme that you think is great only for it to be a pain to shift in a few years because it's not to everyone else's taste.

Cheers lads. The only colours available are; all black, the colour in my OP, red or the BMW Motorrad blue and white.
I thought that as well actually, that there was some red missing from the front of it?

Only thing is that ordering a bike made to spec, is that it's a very drawn out process?

this is a test ride of the same colour scheme as you posted.. looks great

I don't know what the lead time would be but what extras would you be going for :D I'd imagine / guess it could be a couple of months wait?

I wouldn't fork out the money for a new bike unless I absolutely loved it, including the colour.
That would go for any bike really.

I like the colours, red and black is my favourite colour combo.

Only thing I'd go new for is an extra you can't retrofit that I really wanted. Dealers tend to go with base spec or a set 'blah edition' set of extras, so if you want cornering abs or keyless ride or something you'd pay the extra dollar.

For me the only colour for that bike is the offical white, blue and red. But the bike is bike porn mate......cracker of a machine.

I love the black and red one in your original video, really nice. But then again I drive a blue HD so maybe I can't be trusted.
