Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can it help you lose the belly? What about "dancing" fast to dance music too? I know it's better to get outdoors but I'm wondering can this help. Thanks.

It will burn a few calories but unless you improve your diet, it won't make a meaningful difference.

I remember looking up skipping rope a while back and being left with the impression that it can burn as much calories as running for the amount of time put in.

Try the 30 day shred videos on you tube. They last 20 mins and are fairly intensive exercise to do at home. As another poster said, your diet is the main factor if you want weight loss.

It can, but only if you can skip with the same physical intensity that you can run with. Most people can't, and would take a bit practice to get to that level.

I think there might have also been something about possible injuries related to it that left me thinking I was better sticking to running.

I never in my life understood this contention. I'm boxing years and skip solidly with variations etc and for me, skipping for 30 minutes is a good blast but nowhere near as difficult as running with intensity for half an hour.

That was the point. Most people can't skip with anything like the same intensity that they run with.

That's exactly the point. You are probably better than most with a skipping rope, You can probably "sprint" for short bursts. But you have to dial the intensity back to keep tempo for long period.
