Hi have u considered making silage and hay in the Summer months, low input and limited contractors/machinery needed, where are you based? Could you sell the cattle at end of Sumner once fattened and no need for housing?

    Hay - maybe...

Not sure there is any money in silage to be honest...

What about sheep? (I admit I am biased tho, as I have sheep, not cattle)

Yeah defo sheep be handy option aslong as you have the fencing to keep them in, Prob not much of the margin in silage by the time you pay everyone else!
