    I was considering watching it and wanted to know what everyone thought of it. It received plenty of good reviews. So what did you think of it?

    Been a good while but I know I adored it. All that's springing to my mind right now is "he's a bit like Ozu, izzinhee?" Kind of curious whether it'd blow me away as much now but yeah, loved it when I was 18.
    Good time to be checking out Edward Yang right now with A Brighter Summer Day finally getting released on Criterion over the last few weeks (which I also saw ages ago, liked a hell of a lot despite the woeful quality of the only version in circulation).



    You might want to add more to these threads than just the name and leaving it at that though.

    I think it's a masterpiece, like one of the 10 best films of the century so far.

    Really looking forward to getting the blu-ray of A Brighter Summer Day.
