Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi need a little advice
Basically looking to buy a 1.6 TDI golf 2010/2011
A couple of garages have said they have none but can source one in from uk
I didn't know this was a common thing but apparently it is !
Anyway a local dealer has come back to me with one that is perfect
Now I'm unsure on how this goes !
If he orders car in I'm I under obligation to buy then ?
Is there haggle room on price or is price quoted fixed ?
    Who pays VRT ?
Anything i should do in mean time to check it out ?
    Thanks

Your obligation to buy the specific car that they import for you and any haggling on price should be clarified before you commit to purchasing the car.

Legally dealer has pay vrt and register the car if selling to a private consumer. The vrt amount will be included in the price that they quote you or the price that you agree to pay.

It's very important to Get the UK Reg number and run a history check.... Private message me and I'll get you a discount code for Motorcheck, their checks show more than the other history checks (I've no specific loyalty to Motorcheck but I've been in the trade for a long time and can say that they have best info. I don't like seeing innocent customers get caught with a clocked or written off car)
