Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi everyone

Just looking for a bit of advice. My golden Labrador died 15 months ago and finally we feel ready to look at getting a new dog. We don't want to get another lab as we feel that it wouldn't be the same as our previous one and we have been thinking of a beagle. We have a large garden and utility room and love the outdoors and exercise and are ready to give our love and attention to a new pet. Just looking for a bit of feedback on beagles

    Thanks for reading

Beagles are great fun and tons of personality, easy to train despite what other people say (I am a dog trainer and have had 4 beagles) they can be independent but are affectionate. If food motivated they will attempt to eat and steal everything so early training and socialising as with all dogs is very important. The right diet is important as they can be hyper active especially from working lines. There are a few breeders I would definitely avoid but if you are looking for a rescue there are always pups and young beagles looking for a home.

They're extremely intelligent dogs and ours has surprised us many times over the years with their cleverness. I would also say that they really dont like being left alone. Ours was very hyper until he reached about 3 but now he's nearly 7 and he's perfect but he can still have a few moments of going crazy. They're also brilliant with kids.
