hi, anyone here making a few pound online freelancing from the likes of upwork and similar sites? Has anyone started learning copywriting from scratch or is it a skill that you either have or dont?

I did it a few years ago when I was short of € and had spare time. It can be quite time consuming and when you work out the actual amount of money you're getting per hour - well, it's peanuts!
It can also be very repetitive and not a little soul destroying in terms of the drivel you have to write. If you can get a good repeat client though you can pick and choose what work you take on.

At the upper end there are plenty of people making several thousands every month on the likes of Upwork and other sites. You have to market yourself the right way though, and obviously being able to write well is a big plus - but not as important as you might think. Obviously you need to be able to format copy well, have impeccable grammar, etc.

If you go down the route of trying to get lots of jobs at a cheap rate though, you're going the wrong way and you won't last in the game.
