Mother of divine Jesus! That was bad even for FC standards...

Trigger gets a clean smack of a car, and within a minute he responds with a tickle to Wayne's mid section and Wayne is D one out for the count? WTF?

Have to say guys at times I was wondering what on earth I was watching. One minute slapstick comedy with the Bishops the next really strong domestic violence with Trigger and Carol. It was like Roddie Doyle on LSD.
I'm thinking was the double wedding was written into the show as late as it was organised on screen ? The weddings and associated stories were fine in their own right but together ?? A badly timed reaction to the return of Red Rock ?

Robbie looked very well in his suit. Aww Robbie and Nora hugging. He's a nice guy Robbie.

It reminded me a bit of the pantomime weddings on Coronation Street where everything goes wrong or something really dramatic happens in the middle of the wedding, but I don't think Corrie would go anywhere near the violent scenes we saw ie. Trigger beating up Carol and then Robbie beating Trigger unconscious. All in all, a truly bizarre episode.

And how the hell did Robbie literally meet NOBODY when he roughly escorted Trigger from the tent all the way to the gardens of the hotel. A double wedding and he didn't pass a single person and there is no way nobody noticed him grabbing Trigger from the table and dragging him away. Only in Soap Land.

I don't know I think that's believable enough cause there seemed to be loads of exits to get in and out to the marquee and there wasn't that many guests at it either.

This. Of all the things FC did wrong with recent storylines, the Robbie and Nora one was actually very well executed. It would have been completely unrealistic for Robbie to have put decades of hurt to one side and go running into his mothers arms. Of course it wouldn't work out straight away, and it could still go pear shaped when they find out how different they are as people but this slow-cook approach to their relationship is fascinating to watch.

On another note, do you think any of the FC actors or script writers ever read this thread? I'm guessing not and judging by the people who were culled shortly after making critical remarks about the show, I have an image of them as very thin-skinned precious creatures who think that writing a few lines on an Irish Soap makes them somehow superior in the world of entertainment. Thank God we boardsies know the truth! It would be interesting to interview a few of them though try and work out how they write their stories..

The story lines are not the worst I have seen in soaps. Recent one with carol and robbie and their parents have been execellent.

I think they do read the thread, I used to call cathal the joker and then one night he made a reference to batman in the show. Also did anyone hear carols dad call Dan wheelchair warrior that has to come from here, we are always slagging Dan off here.

I laughed at the behind the scenes VT on the rte player. The link was posted here. One of the set designers said it took a full week to construct the marquee and yet the viewers are told that it was organised by Kerri Ann 2 days before the wedding!

Great to see Zumo back, I loved the bit where Decco declares his love for Kerri Ann through Leo's door, he shoves Zumo away but Zumo ain't going anywhere, he's staying to hear it. Hillarious.

The double wedding was an odd combo, ex con turned good guy Decco vs gangster getting into more trouble Robbie. Kerri Anns fairytale vs Carol taking a beating. We need Tracy back but it looks like that won't happen. If Hilda Fay was returning she'd be at the wedding.

I found it funny that in each of the couples, the best man was an ex boyfriend of the bride!

The entire episode was confused. Three stooges stuff with the Bishop boys and Goodfellas stuff with Carol, Robbie and Trigger. Badly executed overall. I really failed to see a decent budget on screen despite the millions spent on this show.

I think a lot of money is spent on wages and also fancy clothes for the characters as well as make-up. Sets like Spar and the pub take a while to get right. And don't under-estimate the clothes. Sash is always wearing really fancy clothes and Hayleys shirt alone probably cost a few thousand!

Its a shame more money cannot be put into finding proper script writers so that we may eventually get more than 1 or 2 decent storylines a year.

I thought Dan was better suited to Carol who could forget their passionate encounter with the exploding car

Hope we get to see a scene with Meredith Montera and Tommy

Oh no, I don't like Meredith at all. She seems kind of contrived or something...

Was the marquee supposed to be in the grounds of the Ballantyne? I'm sure I heard something to that effect in Wednesday's episode. That would immediately raise the question of why it didn't have a suitable function room to host a wedding reception.

Just an aside - Sitting in the sunshine yesterday reading a book about Irish wills and family feuds https://www.amazon.com/Battle-Wills-Irish-Families-over/dp/1906623899

One of the chapters concerned an Irish actor who was challenging his millionaire uncle's will. Googled him and turns out that he is the bould Trigger Foley

Nothing to do with FC really but thought I'd tell yiz.

" I'm not leaving you alone with Carol after what you did to her"
Says Robbie to the 72-year-old lying in the Intensive Care bed, hooked up to a heart monitor and on heavy-duty painkillers and with his face covered in red chalk and stick-on 'stitches' sellotape.

Trigger hasn't a hope of pulling through. Whatever about the 6/7 punches to the face, that final kick to the face, you know, the one that missed by 10 feet, he's a goner from that!
