Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I dunno, I've heard stronger accents! Soaps are all about extremes and exaggeration, when you think about it it's quite odd to have had a Dublin soap with so little variety of Dublin accents up to now! I like her anyway, think she's a great comedy character with a hint of reality and the accent and colloquialisms are all part of that for me :)

I know it's probably been mentioned but the Ram couldn't take a pi€s a few weeks back without Dermish accusing him of shagging Stripey, and now they're at it like rabbits and he's nowhere to be seen!

The actress who plays nikki is from Ballymun according to her twitter, wouldn't say that's a put on accent lol

I don't understand what Tommy's job is, not so long ago he was working on the allotment with the jobs bridge girl.

I bet it's hammer-action, and he uses quite a big bit. Is Tommy building this huge erection extension all by himself?

    ;);)

I wasn't really paying attention when he was talking to Melanie, was he really aggressive with her?

Ya and giving her orders, as if he owns the place, just cause he's shagging the trainee manager he think he can go around and give orders.

Ya and he was also ordering her around as if he was her supervisor, surely they were both on the same level.

The FC writers aren't going to worry about what room Debbie and Tommy will be foronatiion in, as room 202, 502 all look the same.... Now where will they go to when they're sacked, the allotment?

No, he moves from room 503-600 or any vacant room that's available, no, honestly Fin, I don't know where in FC- land he lives. :)

They're better than Caoimhe's Kilkenny accent

I think it's great to hear a regional accent on the show. I even miss Eileen Bishop!

It drives me mad listening to the obviously put on accents from some of them. Like an actor clearly from the West of Ireland that they are trying to pass off as a hardcore Dub. Same as when they try to pass off a character as a person from down the country when they are clearly, loike, south soiders. In that respect, it's nice to listen to the actors who are either real Dubs themselves and/or good with accents! Sash and the new one are great. And I like it when they remember that a lot of people in Dublin come from different parts of Ireland. Dermot-Waterford, etc. Dublin is made up of more than Dubs. :)

Does anyone remember Pete the taxi driver who was involved with the racism storyline (Udenze house fire)? This was back around 2005-06. The guy who played him was in Killinascully at the same time and it was clear that he was NOT a Dub. His accent was awful. Oisín is supposed to have lived in Cork for 10 years and he has a Clare/Limerick accent. Also the girl who played Louise until recently, I believe I read that she is from the midlands and sometimes you could hear her real accent.

I still think this storyline with The Ram and Stripey makes no sense. Like, I can see no good coming with it. Normally when a storyline starts you can kind of see where they are going to go with it. When it comes out, Gripey will go mad and either attack Tommy or threaten to kill himself, Katy will still be AWOL from stress, 40 coats will still be walking around scamming everyone and wrecking my fcuking head in the process, Mary from Glenroe will still be sticking her nose in everyone's business (I can hear her now-"that oul gurrier Tommy Dillon"), the spark will run out and Stripey will realise that she doesn't actually love The Ram as much as she loves Gripey. Because what is Stripey without Gripey?

I find it utterly hilarious though that Stripey gave Niamh such a hard time when she was having an affair with Mumbles. I really hope Niamh is around to give her a few well said digs when the time comes. If the writers had thought it through, they should've given the affair storyline to Jackie. It would've tied in nicely with The Ram's history with Bob, and Pete's jealousy/hatred of The Ram.

You beat me to it LOL!

It was their Fee that nearly knocked me over - 15 make 3,500 PER EPISODE!!! Three Thousand Five Hundred Euro for each episode of this crap!! Amazing! My 8 year olds homework on Monday would have passed for a script for most shows.

BTW 9 were paid "only" 1800 (which total 24 of the 26 writers - the other 2 are obviously transition year students). We should try to guess if we can spot in future which ones were written by the cut price writers.

3,500 per episode- the mind boggles.

Of course, RTE forgot to add that it hasn't been able to sell it on the international markets because it's pure sh1te, only good for a bit of crack on this thread.
Though even that has lost its attraction in the last few months.....

Speaking of the confusion of where everyone lives, does Oisin live in Decco's now? The other day, he was lounging on the couch in the house on his own when Charlotte walked in.

Fair city writers, constantly having a dig about people jobs and now older mothers. What's wrong with pushing a pram when your in your 40s.
Judging by the abysmal standard of recent scripts, I'd say the writers are not long out their prams!

Oisin's character is utterly pointless. He has not had a civil/decent conversation with any of his family since he arrived weeks back. His dad, stepmum and sister cannot get on with him. He has nothing but contempt for them, so why is he in the show? Apart from poncing around all day messing on dating apps and arranging house banging raves at noon time with a bunch of mutes?

I created an account this morning just to post on here about that Independent article!

How in the name of good god do they waste €54,883 making each episode.

And the writers getting a bonus is a complete joke. I'm sure a few Transition Years or graduates would do it for free for the experience, and do a way better job that the pure muck that we are all enduring at the moment!

The viagra bill must be sky high for the Ram seeing as he's at it so much.
