Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Oisin is a good actor and is playing the part well to be fair. He actually makes me feel uncomfortable every time he's on screen!

LoveHate just lurking in the background all the time being really vague and generic. It's got to be him. Otherwise he's a completely pointless and irrelevant character, even by FC standards.

Playing his part well, I beg to differ,

There really should be a PAC inquiry into the waste of money that RTE spends on the production of Fair City, after all it is tax payers money.

Why not expand it to an inquiry into all the waste of money that RTE spends in general. Fair City is one of the few watchable things on it: what about all the time given to all them makeover programmes, all that bad country music, all them reality shows, etc. They are all complete wastes of taxpayers' money. Fair City is watchable and can be really good even sometimes.

Agree what that ^ but 26 writers on FC? as we've seen, having that many writers just confuses things, for themselves as well as us.

The Pauley actor's character has got to have something to do with it. The fact he was in Love/Hate would probably mean he has been cast as a criminal. Cathal was probably thrown in to divert attention towards him and I don't think it is Oisin as it is too convenient. Oisin is weird and devious but the way he suddenly became a coward when caught by Jane and didn't even fight back or run shows he ain't a violent pervert whatever else he may be.

Pauley's sole role at present is being friends with Emmett, who is ... Katie's brother. Pauley always offers his help a lot too and that is often a bad sign (think Ian Huntley, etc.). Pauley had something to do with Katie's disappearance and that could be anything from him hiding her and helping her financially to accidentally killing her and hiding the body to he being a complete psycho.

26 scriptwriters is way too many. I know that this is at the current time: 26 involved in writing episodes the current year. If it was across the entire series, that would be a different matter. I think 5 maximum is all there should be in any given year. Otherwise, you are indeed right, it does confuse everyone.

Well,I totally buy him as a cocky, narcissistic, deluded, unstable sociopath. He gives me the creeps yet kind of fascinates me also.

I know some people have said he's too much of a pansy but not all nutters look like the hulk,I think its better he's average looking, more realistic.

This whole Katy/Oisin/Jane/LoveHate story is being done well by FC,first good well-handled storyline since Heather & Ellie.

Plus some characters are not needed unless they get a story. For instance, when did Leo have a story last? Nothing against Leo btw and indeed he was once a central part of many great storylines inclusive of Billy Meehan.

lol i gotta say i like Fair City, i love how **** it is. It truly is terrable and it shouldnt be. The stories are just pure ****e.

If its on TV and ill watch it but only to laugh at how ****e it is. How much money is RTE wasting on this total ****e?

I agree, he gives me the creeps as well, I think John Deegan has been very good in the investigation so far.

26 writers, explains why the show is so bad, the mirror.ie says they get 3.5k per episode? WTF?

I think the actor plays Oisin well. He is cocky, full of himself, deluded, unstable, and often creepy and is also by nature entrepreneurial, innovative, clever, inventive and able to sell himself (he is indeed a product of the bickerings of the Blue Dolphin office and has a lot of that era's Paul and Nicola, both the good and the bad, in him!). He is a sociopath but with limits. He is stuck somewhere between prankster and peeping tom but he is not a robber, rapist or murderer from how the Jane thing has panned out.

The story is good and has a lot of potential with all the characters with a lot to lose in the mix. Charlotte and Paddy Bishop is the big secret that could come out and I think Rachel knows about that IIRC??

I love the inconsistencies as well, it's laughable.:D .... I don't think this thread would be so active if FC made sense. :)

If it's him, I'm going to say it suggests she's still alive but that he knows where she is. I think Katie being murdered by him would be very dark for FC and I'm not sure they'd want to go there.

Love Hate's role in the soap to date is to walk around and utter the odd one liner here and there. How many more scenes can they do where he says "if there's anything more I can do let me know," in relation to Katie's disappearance. What exactly is/has he doing/done, apart from asking what he can do:rolleyes:?

At least he is offering, the rest of the neighbours and friends aren't really up or down about it . You would think there would be search parties out by now , and even the parents are still going to work

Maybe paulie took Katie as a payback for enmet taking his money, although if it is him the story is done very badly as he would of told emmet by now!

I am loving the KerriAnn and Decco scenes at the moment. Pollyanna meets Dennis the Menace. All we need is to bring Zumo back from Spain and it'll be a great wedding.

I'm getting rightly pissed off at the Katie story it's just going round in circles. Maybe she's gone off to make one of the other Dillon sisters talk sense into their dad Tommy, or maybe to Kilkenny to tell Zak what's been going on.

Yeh, like they'll find her in the park on the swings, all exclaiming "Doh. Why did we not think to check the park."

She'll then say that her mobile phone ran out of battery and that without her Carrigstown find me app enabled she had no way to get home.

All will go back to normal. Oisin will have a complete personality change and end up being best of buddies with everyone, Jane included!

Reading ahead on the rte guide It looks like it will be dragged on and on, and on, with a different event/person taking the blame every few days. They're gonna get some mileage out of this!! Also this time next week :
inspector gadget resurfaces to make Damian and Pete an intriguing offer of work. Yay, the Pete and Damo story continues, the writers sure know how to give the viewing public what they need!

What's wrong with wearing something from Penneys? Are you a better person if you're wearing something from River-Island?

The anti climax will probably be anticlimatic in itself! !

I love Dan just sitting on the street corner all day in his wheelchair being a nosey in everybody's business! ! If you can remember him in his early days he couldn't be any more different to how his character is now :D

Actress that plays katie is in a big theatre show atm so it genuinely could be months before this comes to a resolution by which time every bloody character down to Ruth and Junior will endure Deegan wrath of questioning !!

Wasn't the CCTV a big thing when Blackie and Tommy had that tumble down the stairs there?

That's before my time. I only started watching FC when I discovered this forum. I used to leave the room when my girlfriend watched it.

Hey I celebrate the entire Penneys catalogue. 9 times out of 10 your reoccurring FC character is in the exact same outfit, day in day out. Sash, Pete, Laura, Dan, Emmet and the FC budget is not going on wardrobe. And sometimes the outfits are plain rediculous. I am not knocking Penneys sure didn't I just stick up on flip flops and t-shirts yesterday for me holliers. River Island now there's one place I wouldn't be caught dead ;)

What is the fooking story with Love Hate's wardrobe? It's so far removed from the rest of the cast.
