In that case so do Hyundai, Nissan and basically anyone who isn't VW.

(Tesla outsold every body bar the eGolf).

There are some questions that might be raised......

    1) what is the order book like for Model 3 in Norway - are there still people waiting for cars that havent arrived yet

    2) how much inventory of undelivered/unsold Model 3s are sitting around in Norway.

    Those are important

Well there are 26 or so used Model 3s with very low mileage or sale here, so I doubt the order books are bulging.

Those used examples do not necessarily reflect what's ordered or not.

You'd think if someone was going to do an OMG Tesla sales fell down massively article.....

They might have tried to see how many Model 3s came into the country (Norway).

    Compare that with registrations.

Did anyone actually read the article or just the head line and make an assumption what was in it after that?

It’s actually quite complimentary on Model 3 sales

I just posted it for a laugh because the eGolf put sold it,

Apparently they will be taking orders mid July, two weeks after Tesla UK; the base model (about 300kms real world apparently) will come in under the 50K BIK, so will probably sell well.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the €50k bik reduction applies to the car price before the €5k VRT + €5k SEAI grant. So if Tesla list the car at €48k, then it actually costs €58k before incentives, so you pay bik on €8k.

Also the business pays €49.2k for the car because of the reduced seai grant for businesses.

Ah OK.. I was not aware of that. From What I understand, BIK on €8,000 & driving 45,000Km + would be less than €1K per annum. Still a good incentive, at least until the BIK incentive lasts...

    Red looks amazing

It looks nice when the lights shine on it but it looks a bit dull outdoors on an overcast day in my opinion.

Still, for me it's between red and blue.

That's not bad at all compared to car of the year 2019, the Jaguar I-PACE (101 for sale). Or the Audi e-tron (58 for sale).

I’m tending towards blue. Always loved it on Beemers I owned in years gone by. The red is nice, but the price is excessive.

Blue and white interior - so tempting.

    What version are you considering?

I've got a blue Model S with white interior. If I were to buy a new car I would choose red or blue and cream interior. I think the wood effect offered with cream looks very nice but I haven't seen it with my own eyes yet.

How is the white interior wearing for you? I’ve had off white leather in an S5 years back and it did get grubby. Same with ivory in a 5 series.

It looks great but I found it high maintenance.

The white interior will probably pick up stains like from Jeans etc.

I would STILL go white though - I'd rather look at a white seat with stains on it then a black interior.

The Model 3 does actually work quite well with a black interior though.

I love the pale wood trim with the cream interior in the Model S but would fear the seats would be destroyed. Is it possible to mix and match the interior trims if you order in-person?

I loved the blue till I saw the red in person!
I'll prolly still stick to the blue, got kids so not sure white is a good choice for interior. Also can't see myself ponying up for the Long Range. 400km + is loads of range for Ireland.

Looks like the Norwegians don't like the build quality of their model 3s that much:

Elbilprodusenten Tesla faller dramatisk i kundeundersøkelsen til Norsk Kundebarometer. – Det er en katastrofe, sier leder av undersøkelsen PSilseth.

    Tesla is dumped by customers
Electric car manufacturer Tesla falls dramatically in the customer survey to the Norwegian customer barometer. "It's a disaster," says head of the survey PSilseth.

They have gone from 4th to 51st (last place) in a year.

No wonder VW sales are surging.

    Here's another article:

Basically, Tesla is saying that their service capacity is a challenge, which isn't surprising considering they already had issues and now there are many more Teslas on the road.

    Norwegian Reputation Barometer 2019
Tesla Plunps on Reputation Barometer: the worst of the car brands
Is in free fall on annual measurement of customer satisfaction.

    8. May 2019-08:50

New electric car manufacturer will tilt Tesla off the throne with four engines
Volvo tops this year's edition of Norwegian customer Barometer, while newcomer Tesla is in free fall. It is the second consecutive year that Volvo is the company in Norway that best meets its customers.

The rear follows Toyota and the Flytoget, which has won the Customer Satisfaction award six times each, according to Dagens Nngsliv, which has been granted access to the barometer released by BI School of Economics Wednesday.

Falling from 4. To 51. Space
Tesla was first measured last year and finished fourth with strong 82.8 customer satisfaction points. One year later they are at 51. Space.

"It is a sad but not unexpected consequence of the fact that we have had challenges with the service capacity in Norway. We use considerable time and resources to correct this in order to provide the customer experience that we want the Tesla owners to have, "says Tesla's communications manager, Even Sandvold Roland, to the newspaper.

    Facts about Norsk Kundebarometer 2019

    • Norwegian Customer Barometer is a research project at BI School of economics that each year measures satisfaction and loyalty among Norwegian consumers. Customers get the opportunity to say what they think about companies they buy goods and services from. The survey is conducted by Barcode Intelligence and Norstat Norge in collaboration with BI Norwegian Business School.

    • Norstat commissioned from the Norwegian customer Barometer asked 6078 consumers about how well satisfied they are with companies they are regular customers at. Together, these have provided 15.805 business reviews. The survey includes a total of 154 companies that sell goods or services that mean a lot to people's private finances. The data collection period was from January to April 2019.

"In fact, Tesla is the worst among car dealers in 2019 and has a considerable job to do to get back in the top of Norsk Kundebarometer," concludes BI in its summary of the poll.

Hitch option added to the Model 3 - Seems to be around €1k and can't be retrofitted:

The right hand figure is loyalty for sure - I was looking at the left hand figure as I thought this was the measurement the Tesla critics on here were looking at.

No problem there will always be people that purchase tech that is not ready for mass market hell you will probably buy a Samsung Galaxy Fold phone.

Look at the idiots putting deposits on the Volkswagen ID today having never seen it outside or inside or knowing the actual details pure crazy.

1000 Euro refundable deposit.... in an environment where interest rates are zero or even negative?

The cost of such an 'option' to secure a new car early (if it turns out to be any good) is zero. Ask any rational person whether they would take a zero-cost-option on something...

    Who are the idiots exactly?

You're once again not being rational. Why would it be crazy? It's a fully refundable deposit, get your money back any time. It could well be that by the time the cars are ready to be delivered, that this deposit is worth a lot more than the €1,000 people are paying now. Even if you have no interest in buying the car, it's a free gamble. Who is the idiot here?

Hell, might stick one in myself later :D

I've always been an early tech adopter except for phones, which I rarely use as I've got an iPod touch that does pretty much all I need. I have a perfectly fine Google Nexus 5 which I have no intention in changing as long as it works.

My main reason for getting a Tesla was the technology, which keeps getting better with every update despite a few bugs every now and then, but no cars, EVs or otherwise, are completely without problems.

    Who is idiot exactly?

Fully refundable. Potentially the 1st Edition at a better price than standard ID.3 when it launchs. Another few things thrown in

They release in September, I don't like, I get my 1k back. If I do like then I order. I get the car before everyone else....I have tracked the ID now for 2 years or more now....

    It's not like I don't like a VW.....

Who will be the idiot when they have to pay 3-4k more for the same car I get because I picked it up as launch edition???

You will be the idiot because you will have bought a generation 1 version of that car. The rush to get into EV makes no sense your basically a beta tester. People are getting fooled with fancy software when the underlying cars are of poor quality. I would expect VW to be a lot better than Tesla but that remains to be seen. You would be better off keeping your money for another 5 years and let the tech and market mature.

I was offered an i8 today for basically no difference in price to my current car literally a free swap from a BMW main dealer and I had the same agrument with them that it makes zero sense to me.
They can't give these cars away and the depreciation is dam scary.
