Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So from my last thread. My ford cmax needs an engine.
Anyone know decent spots to get an engine preferably with a warranty?
Most spots looking for 800-1000+ for an engine but no warranty.
Cheapest spot I found is 800 for turbo and engine but no warranty.
Is there even places that give a warranty?

So, you're definitely looking for a spot? A place, premises or location wouldn't be of any use to you?

    :pac:

If buying from a business you don't need a warranty as you are protected by consumer law. So getting a garage to supply and fit is the best spot. Buying and fitting yourself may be cheaper but not a better spot, as the supplier can claim that you damaged the engine during fitting which is why most won't offer a warranty.

Was in the same boat a while ago, a month's warranty was what I got with mine off traynors up north.

Sorry lads meant where is the best place to buy the engine . I'm in the midlands.
The mechanic said for me to get the engine and bring it to him.
Tried traynors up north but they have none in stock.

Google cmax breaking, I see some results that way.

Is it the 1.8 TDCI engine? They are the same unit in a mk2 Focus so it might aid in searching for the engine. They are a bit rare though with all the wet belts snapping recently...

Nah its the 1.6 TDI engine.
Scrapyard near me has a 1.6 Citroen berlingo engine and said it,ll be grand for the cmax.
Will I need to inform insurance about the change since its not technically a cmax engine?

Oops, you said insurance. Yeah, best tell them. Since it's same size premium should stay the same.

If the engine is the same, you may well need *all* the ancillary bolt-on bits from your old engine.

    Not your ornery onager

I see your still hunting for one.

All of these manufacturers had this exact same engine in at least one of their cars, mostly covering period 2004-2011, the only difference being all the bolt-on ancillary bits might be different.

    Citroen
    Peugeot
    Ford
    Volvo
    Suzuki
    BMW (Mini)
    Toyota
    Mazda

Just make sure its the 16v 1560cc version.
